Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is actively hiring Engineering Interns to join teams in Calgary, Redwater, and Channahon.
These positions report to a supervisor, manager, or director within the applicable business or service unit, across Pembina's Operations Engineering, Technical Services, Gas Processing and Export, Transmission and Extraction Operations, Project Delivery and Technical Excellence, and Pembina Gas Infrastructure organizations. 

Pembina's engineering, projects, and safety teams provide technical support and engineering expertise across a diverse portfolio of assets, including pipeline systems, gas processing plants, fractionation facilities, terminals, and related infrastructure throughout Canada and the United States. Partnering closely with Operations, Maintenance, Commercial, and Project teams, these teams ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our assets while driving operational excellence, asset integrity, optimization, and continuous improvement.

Terms range from 4 to 16 months depending on the position, and the term dates for each opening are confirmed during the selection process.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

• Perform role-specific engineering, project, or safety duties, which may include hazard assessments, technical troubleshooting, coordination of field work, contractor interface, and execution of Management of Change (MOC) activities. This may also include participating in a project and presenting outcomes or learnings at the end of the term;
• Support engineering and project documentation, including project delivery and governance records, engineering work packages, drawing verification and reviews, as-building, redline tracking, specification deviation documentation, and project closeout;
• Support project and portfolio coordination, including planning, cost tracking, schedule updates, risk management, reporting, and project closure, and support commercial readiness or turnaround activities such as PSSR closeout where applicable;
• Support data, analytics, and reporting activities, such as performance dashboards, safety data and KPIs, and upstream or production analysis, using tools such as Aveva PI Vision, PI DataLink, and Power BI;
• Travel to operating sites and field locations as required, including multiple-day trips;
• Support day-to-day work and learning activities related to the team or function, using tools such as SAP, Microsoft Office, Copilot/ChatGPT, and other applicable systems;
• Support Pembina's safety culture of “Zero by Choice” by caring for yourself and others and following Pembina's Life Saving Rules at all times;

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary engineering program or a closely related discipline, with preference given to students in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Process, Civil, Geotechnical, Petroleum, or Environmental Engineering, or Project Management;
• Returning to school following the end of the work term, with a field of study aligned with, or providing relevant transferable skills for, the role applied for. Some positions require a minimum number of completed years of study, which will be confirmed during the selection process;
• Strong interest in engineering, project management and execution, asset integrity, pipeline systems, infrastructure, process safety, or the energy industry;
• Demonstrated organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
• Ability to commit to the full duration of the term and required schedule, and to travel to the field where the position requires it; and
• Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn in a structured environment, aligned with Pembina's values and safety expectations.

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and requires Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. 
     

You will also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
