Engineering Intern

Position Summary

We are seeking an Engineering Systems Development Intern to help improve the digital systems, workflows and tools used across our company. This role will work with engineering, project management, finance and operations teams to identify inefficient processes and develop practical solutions through automation, system configuration, data analysis and software integration.

The ideal candidate is technically curious, analytical and interested in learning how engineering and business systems operate within a growing company.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and improving internal company systems, applications and automated workflows.
• Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve accuracy.
• Help integrate project management, accounting, timekeeping and engineering platforms.
• Build reports, dashboards and data-validation tools.
• Assist with database management, data cleanup and system migrations.
• Develop scripts, APIs or low-code automations to connect company systems.
• Test new features, workflows and system configurations.
• Troubleshoot user and data issues.
• Document system architecture, processes and operating procedures.
• Gather requirements and feedback from employees and department leaders.
• Assist with evaluating emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence tools.
• Support cybersecurity, permissions and data-governance practices.
• Present completed projects and recommendations to company leadership.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, data analytics or a related discipline.
• Basic experience with one or more of the following: Python, SQL, JavaScript, APIs, Power BI, Microsoft Power Platform or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand complex processes and translate them into organized solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Careful attention to detail and data accuracy.
