Position Summary   

​​The primary objective of the position is to assess the job skills and job readiness of disabled and/or disadvantaged clients participating in Goodwill's Community Based Training Program (Retail and/or Processing Areas); to teach clients various job skills necessary to obtain competitive employment in a retail/processing setting; and to teach clients self-sufficiency skills towards greater independency in their lives.  The primary hours are between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. but the position may work a varied shift, including evenings or weekends, at varied locations to provide relief support in other areas of Mission Services.​ 

Responsibilities  

​​Providing job readiness assessments, job training, coaching, supervision and support to clients. 

​Modeling positive behaviors to clients – not counseling. 

​Making all work assignments for clients in support of their IWRP goals and in coordination with Goodwill Retail Management to meet GSN production goals. 

​Performing job and task analyses of job duties assigned to clients. 

​Providing regular feedback to the Director of Mission Services on each client’s work performance.  

​Communicating each client’s needs for successful completion of IWRP goals to the appropriate constituents (i.e., Mission Services Management, Retail/Processing Management, BVR Counselors).  

​Communicating effectively through verbal and written communication with the Senior Manager of Mission Services on the day-to-day operation of the CBT Program. 

​Collecting statistics on client participation and submitting related written reports to management on a weekly basis. 

​Meeting established Mission Services goals in the areas of clients served per day.  

​Preparing written reports and making recommendations to the appropriate referring partner agencies regarding the completion of each client’s assessment and with regard to competitive employment placement. 

​Completing all required program documentation and related written reports in an accurate and timely manner. 

​Maintaining satisfactory attendance and punctuality based on GSN policies.  

​Working flexible schedules at varied service locations (i.e. CBT programs may temporarily close or limit the hours of operations due to low referrals, thus requiring the position to perform relief functions in other areas of Mission Services, including job coaching and other special projects). 

​Working cooperatively with other GSN Team Members (i.e., retail/processing operations, workforce) to ensure the success of all functions and operations. 

​Maintaining confidentiality of client case file information and of their participation in all GSN CBT programs. 

​Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. 

​Attending department meetings and trainings at corporate or community locations. 

​Assists in any other projects as determined by management. 

​Serving as a case manager for assigned caseload. 

​Providing orientation to clients on workplace related policies. 

​Acting as first responder to clients in need of First Aid or CPR.​

Qualifications: Education, Experience and Requirements 

Required 

​​High School diploma or GED. 

​Knowledge of retail operations is preferred. 

​Ability to write program reports and communicate effectively with the public and referring agency representatives. 

​Communicate in a friendly and informative manner with people from a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. 

​Demonstrated ability to train and coach others. Bilingual in Spanish or Sign Language a plus but not required. 

​Must be self-motivated, autonomous & able to manage his/her time effectively. 

​Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends & holidays, if the need arises. 

​Must be fluent in English. 

​Must exhibit a high level of integrity and business ethics.  

​Requires a high level of adaptability and flexibility.​ 

Preferred 

​​Minimum two years of experience working with disabled individuals in an employment training program.​
