Emergency Services Tech

Overview

Emergency medical situations can be overwhelming for patients and their families. As an Emergency Room Technician at Legacy, you will play a vital role in easing those fears by delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Working alongside a specialized emergency team, you’ll support both pediatric and adult patients during some of the most critical moments of their lives. Responsibilities

• Contributes to a team-based approach to patient care, ensuring efficient and effective patient flow through the Emergency Department.

• Provides direct patient care to newborns, children, adults, and geriatric patients under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse.

• Demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, and hospital staff.

• Maintains responsibility and accountability for the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of unit equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

Education: 

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 

• Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred

Skills:

• Basic medical terminology. 
• Computer familiarity.  
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments.

Licensure

Oregon: 

• Current American Heart Association BLS for Provider certification required.
• CNA, MA or EMT preferred.

Washington:

• Current American Heart Association approved CPR certification required.
• Registered or Certified Nursing Assistant (RNA/CNA) required for employees who perform this job in the state of Washington (including those who float into the role).
• Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist required for employees who perform phlebotomy in the State of Washington (including those who float into the role).

Pay Range

USD $22.32 - USD $31.90 /Hr.
