Emergency Medical Technician - Casual

POSITION:                Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) 

DEPARTMENT:          Emergency Medical Services

HOURS:                     Call Shifts (Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays)

WAGE RANGE:          $20.77 - $26.71 hourly

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The fundamental responsibility of the EMT-B is to conserve life, to alleviate suffering, to promote health, to do no harm and to encourage the quality and equal availability of emergency medical care.  The EMT-B is qualified in pre-hospital emergency care and services by a competency-based education program.  The standard of practice of the EMT-B shall be in accordance with the utmost current edition "Emergency Medical Technician:  National Standard Curriculum."

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Some advanced education preferred.

• Possess a valid State Driver's License
• Current state or National Registry EMT-B Certification
• Driving record in compliance with MVR policy regarding insurability.

SKILL(S):
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

EXPERIENCE:
Some past work experience, preferably in healthcare desired.
