Email & SMS Marketing Specialist (ShopHQ)

ShopHQ is seeking an experienced, data-driven Email & SMS Marketing Specialist to own customer retention, dynamic lifecycle flows, promotional campaigns, sweepstakes, and customer loyalty across email and SMS channels. Operating natively in Klaviyo, you will lead the end-to-end execution of our promotional calendar, multi-step automated flows, dynamic audience segmentation, and list growth strategies. In this role, you will leverage AI tools to scale testing and efficiency, maintain rigorous tracking of channel performance, and lead transparent internal reporting shareouts across the organization.
Calendar Ownership, Strategy & Execution
Master Calendar Ownership: Own, maintain, and execute the master Email & SMS promotional calendar, ensuring alignment with site-wide sales, merchandising priorities, inventory availability, and marketing milestones.

Campaign Deployment: Direct the end-to-end planning, build, QA, and deployment of high-frequency promotional email and SMS campaigns.

Creative Asset Prep: Update, edit, and format templated design assets in Figma for quick-turn promotions. This includes adjusting copy, swapping product imagery, cropping assets, and maintaining brand standards without waiting on full design cycles.

Lifecycle Automation & Klaviyo Flows
Design, build, optimize, and maintain complex automated flows in Klaviyo across email and SMS (e.g., Welcome Series, Abandoned Cart/Browse, Post-Purchase, Product Replenishment/Cross-Sell, Win-Back, and VIP/Loyalty)..

Customer Loyalty, VIP & Sweepstakes Management
Loyalty Program: Manage, optimize, and grow ShopHQ’s customer loyalty/rewards program, driving program enrollment, tier progression, and point redemption across Klaviyo customer journeys.

Sweepstakes & Giveaways: Plan, build, and execute sweepstakes, contests, and interactive giveaways to accelerate list acquisition, re-engage dormant subscribers, and drive excitement around key retail moments.

AI Tools & Modern Marketing Innovation
Leverage AI capabilities (e.g., predictive analytics, AI copy generation/ideation, subject line optimization, and send-time optimization) to increase execution speed and personalize messaging at scale.

Test emerging AI workflows for quick copy variations, personalized product recommendations, and predictive churn modeling.

Performance Tracking, Quantifiable Metrics & Internal Shareouts
Granular KPI Tracking: Rigorously track, analyze, and optimize core quantitative channel metrics, including Open Rates, Click-Through Rates, Click-to-Open Rates, Conversion Rates, Revenue Per Recipient, Total Channel Revenue, Unsubscribe/Opt-Out Rates, and Deliverability Health.

A/B Testing: Conduct continuous A/B tests on subject lines, preview text, send times, content formats, SMS copy, incentives, and flow logic.

Internal Reporting & Shareouts: Establish clear, recurring internal reporting routines (weekly performance dashboards and monthly deep-dives) to share channel data and actionable insights across executive, marketing, and merchandising teams.

List Growth & Compliance
Manage onsite acquisition tools (pop-ups, dynamic forms, checkout opt-ins, sweepstakes landing pages) to aggressively grow compliant email and SMS lists.

Ensure 100% compliance with messaging regulations, including TCPA, CTIA, CAN-SPAM, and state-level consumer privacy laws.

• 3–5+ years of direct experience managing high-volume Email and SMS programs in a direct-to-consumer e-commerce environment.
• Deep, expert-level technical proficiency with Klaviyo (both Email and SMS) is required.
• Hands-on experience with Shopify / Shopify Plus is strongly preferred (understanding Shopify data structures, customer tags, and app integrations).
• Proven track record of owning an integrated email/SMS promotional calendar and leading transparent, data-driven internal shareouts to leadership.
• Hands-on experience managing digital sweepstakes/giveaways for subscriber growth and familiarity with DTC loyalty platforms.
• Practical experience using Figma for quick template updates and familiarity with AI-assisted marketing tools (e.g., Klaviyo AI, ChatGPT for copy variations).
• Expert understanding of core e-commerce and retention metrics (Open Rate, CTR, RPR, LTV, Repeat Purchase Rate, Churn) and ability to turn raw data into executive-ready reports.
• Thorough understanding of TCPA compliance (double opt-ins, quiet hours, keyword handling, TCPA-compliant signup forms) and email deliverability best practices.
