The Role

The Field Detailer supports ENG’s electrical project delivery by performing field detailing work that transforms contract documents and design intent into practical, constructable production information.

This is a production-focused role that requires meaningful electrical knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to interpret incomplete design information through the lens of real field installation means and methods, code compliance, and industry best practices.

You will work closely with technical leadership and receive day-to-day functional guidance to learn and apply ENG’s approach to field detailing and project execution. Your work will help ensure that electrical project information is practical, constructable, and aligned with actual installation requirements.

The Field Detailer reviews project documents, determines what is required for installation and field execution, and creates the information that downstream Modelers, VDC team members, and project teams need to perform their work effectively.

Location, Availability & Time Zones: Remote role based anywhere in the United States, with availability to support ENG’s US-based electrical projects and coordinate with teams across applicable US time zones.

Mandatory Requirements

Electrical & Construction Knowledge

• Meaningful electrical field knowledge, preferably within commercial electrical construction.

• Understanding of electrical field installation means and methods.

• Ability to interpret electrical contract documents, electrical design packages, drawings, and project documentation.

• Practical understanding of circuit grouping, conduit-planning strategies, electrical installation logic, and constructability requirements.

• Ability to identify missing, incomplete, or unclear design information and infer constructable solutions using electrical field knowledge and applicable code understanding.

• Familiarity with code compliance and best practices relevant to electrical installation and project delivery.

• Understanding of field detailing for commercial electrical work.

• Ability to apply electrical knowledge to reduce the risk of incorrect interpretation that could result in incorrect installation outcomes in the field.

Technical & Production Skills

• Ability to break out scope from project documents and organize work into practical detailing packages and production workflows.

• Ability to produce field-detailing outputs that support ENG modeling teams, project teams, and downstream deliverables.

• Experience supporting—or the demonstrated ability to support—QA/QC and constructability needs when assigned.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive production work with consistency, focus, and accuracy.

• Ability to decide whether assigned model and drawing deliverables meet client and code standards when performing QA/QC.

• General comfort with technology and a willingness to learn ENG’s tools, workflows, and delivery standards.

Software

• Bluebeam is the primary tool for this role.

• Ability to use Bluebeam to examine, mark up, organize, and communicate PDF-based detailing information throughout the life of a project.

• Revit is not an entry requirement for this role.

Language

• Professional English communication skills are required.

Preferred

• Experience supporting electrical QA/QC reviews where constructability, code awareness, and field logic are critical to project success.

• Experience identifying and resolving constructability issues in deliverables before submission to a client.

• Experience working with Modelers, VDC teams, Project Managers, Job Captains, Electrical Technical Leaders, or trade contractor partners.

• Interest in process automation, continuous improvement, construction technology, and AI-enabled workflows.

• Identify missing information in the design and infer constructable solutions using electrical field knowledge and applicable code understanding.

• Identify and resolve constructability issues in Business Unit deliverables before submission to the client.

• Support QA/QC reviews where constructability, code awareness, and field logic are critical to project success.

• Decide whether model and drawing deliverables meet applicable client and code standards when performing QA/QC.

• Escalate technical questions, constructability concerns, and higher-risk interpretation issues to Electrical Technical Leaders when needed.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Align priorities, workload, and role expectations for project support and service development with the Business Unit Director.

• Coordinate project needs, delivery timing, and detailing priorities with Project Managers and Job Captains.

• Provide constructable field-detailing information that supports downstream modeling and deliverables for Modelers and VDC Team Members.

• Support quality and constructability checks with QA/QC Reviewers where field knowledge is needed.

• Support project execution through practical detailing information and constructability input for other ENG Electrical Teams.

• Collaborate with Talent and Training Partners to help define candidate fit, onboarding needs, and capability development for this emerging role.

• Support client and Trade Contractor Partner needs with practical field-detailing outputs aligned with installation expectations.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Help ENG expand a complementary constructability-focused service offering.

• Support ENG in reducing dependency on client Field Detailing capacity.

• Coordinate with the Innovation Team to identify opportunities to automate the Field Detailing process.

• Contribute to integrating field-detailing workflows into ENG’s long-term AI strategic initiatives.
