EKG Tech

Per Diem, Rotate

This position requires proficiency in EKG and at least one of the following:

Responsible for procurement of routine and cerebral silence, STAT and outpatient EEG recordings. Responsible for assisting physician in performing exercise and pharmacological stress tests. Performs patient preparation to include lead placement, patient instruction/education. Monitors patient throughout procedure and observes for changes in patient condition. Participates in report generation, as well as charting and delivery of reports to staff assistant for processing. Requires excellent communication skills among co-workers, hospital staff, and physicians. Also performs routine EKG's upon successful completion of competencies. This position may scan holters if competency is demonstrated in rhythm recognition 

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Minimum:      High School diploma or Equivalent

Preferred:      Associate’s degree in physical or biological science.

EXPERIENCE:    

Prefer one (1) year previous hospital experience, but will train.

Prefer certified EKG tech/course or EEG course

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:  

AHA BLS certification required; AHA ACLS required for stress testing

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:  

Computer knowledge/experience
