Position Overview
As Educational Aide, you’ll support an after school and summer camp program for children living in homeless shelters and low-income permanent housing. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist with all daily lessons and activities including sports and recreation, educational support, and arts and crafts.
- Ensuring that the program room and spaces are kept neat and orderly.
- Engaging in outreach activities to ensure attendance and participation.
- Maintaining an atmosphere of consistency and fairness in which all children and staff cooperate.
- Resolving conflict within your group, seeking assistance from other staff, supervisors and directors when necessary.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, working towards Education Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Proficiency in English and Math skills
- Commitment to working with youth from a variety of backgrounds and providing high-quality services
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
Hours: This is a part-time job, 2:00pm-6:00pm Monday-Friday
Compensation
Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage, prevailing wage, or exempt salary requirements under federal, state and local laws.
