  • Identify emerging industry topics, trends, and thought leaders that provide value to Institute members and the broader investment and wealth management profession.
  • Direct the peer-review process for academic publications, including coordinating double-blind reviews, evaluating submissions, and facilitating editorial advisory board recommendations.
  • Identify and manage research funding and grant opportunities supporting Institute publications.
  • Protect the copyright and intellectual property of all Institute publications.

Editorial Board & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Editors-in-Chief, Editorial Advisory Boards, authors, reviewers, and Institute leadership.
  • Recruit, develop, and maintain strong relationships with Editorial Advisory Board members, subject matter experts, academic contributors, and authors.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Editorial Advisory Board meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to promote published research and increase publication visibility.

Operations & Program Management

  • Oversee relationships with external vendors, including copy editors, designers, printers, and publication platform providers, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Oversee publication platforms and related digital content.
  • Manage author publishing agreements, publication permissions, and reprint requests.
  • Lead the Institute's annual publication awards program in partnership with the Awards Committee.
  • Coordinate publication production with the Marketing & Communications team to ensure timely and successful publication delivery.

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, English, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in editorial, publishing, communications, or related leadership roles.

Preferred

  • Experience managing professional, academic, or peer-reviewed publications strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading editorial boards, peer-review processes, or multi-stakeholder publication review processes preferred.
  • Financial services, investment management, or professional association experience preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple publications or complex editorial projects with competing priorities and deadlines preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and editorial best practices.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality publications.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support Institute conferences and events.
