Job Summary:

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to join our Emergency Department team at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta and the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville.

Our ED Techs play a critical role in supporting our nurses and providers and helping patients receive timely, high-quality care. Job Description:

Position: Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech)

Location: Alfond Center for Health, Augusta AND Thayer Center for Health, Waterville
Schedule: 36 hours per week

Shift:  Nights (7p-7a)

** This position requires the ability to work and be cross-trained for both MaineGeneral Emergency Department locations, with shift assigned based on department needs**

What You'll Do:

• Performs basic patient care activities within the scope of practice. Assists patients with meeting their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs and reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions 
• Greets patients and visitors. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls. Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested
• Performs technical procedures as delegated by medical staff, including ECGs, splinting, and specimen collection
• Assists with keeping unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly

What You Bring:

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Maine Registry of Certified Nursing Assistants and Direct Care Workers, OR Licensed EMT - Maine Department of Public Safety (DPS) required
• Emergency Department, acute-care, medical-surgical, or other hospital experience preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to recognize and communicate changes in patient condition
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining patient safety and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of acuity.

Compensation Information:

$19.65 - $34.39

The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
