Overview

A warm British family relocating from the UK to Edgewater, Miami, is seeking an experienced, energetic and flexible full-time nanny for their two young daughters, aged three and almost two. The family also has a small dog, so candidates must be comfortable with pets.

The nanny will help the children settle into their new home and establish a happy, consistent routine in Miami. The girls are energetic and adaptable, and the family is seeking someone who will provide warm, engaging care while upholding good manners, routines and age-appropriate boundaries.

The nanny should be comfortable working closely and collaboratively with the parents, who will often be present. At times, they will share responsibilities or each care for one child. During the majority of the weekend hours, the nanny will generally have sole responsibility for both children. The ideal candidate will be confident working independently while also enjoying a cooperative, team-oriented dynamic. The parents value a nanny’s professional experience and welcome thoughtful input and suggestions.

The position guarantees 40 hours per week. Flexibility will be important as the family establishes its new schedule. Most hours are expected to fall on weekends, provisionally on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the remaining hours arranged during the week. Occasional evening babysitting may also be required.

The family may travel for extended periods during the summer and for occasional weekends throughout the year. The nanny must be comfortable with domestic and international travel and will be provided with live-in accommodation while travelling.

Ideally, the nanny may join the family in the UK for a short period before supporting their move to Miami, subject to having the appropriate work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for both girls

• Help the children adjust to their new home and life in Miami
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children Complete the children’s laundry

• Supervise the children confidently in and around water
• Travel domestically and internationally with the family
• Provide occasional evening babysitting
• Communicate openly with the parents and offer professional input when helpful

Qualifications

• Previous experience caring for two young children of similar ages
• Warm, energetic, flexible and adaptable
• Confident balancing structure with a nurturing approach
• Experience travelling with young children
• Familiarity with Miami and local children’s activities
• Experience working with British or international families
• Confident and experienced driver
• Professional, proactive and organised
• Comfortable around a small dog

Requirements

Salary and Benefits

• $40+ per hour, depending on experience
• 40 guaranteed hours per week with overtime paid at the applicable rate
