Overview

A warm, professional couple based on the Upper East Side is seeking an experienced weekend nanny/housekeeper to support their home and help care for their 16-month-old son.

This is a hybrid position combining hands-on household support with a mix of shared-care and occasional sole-charge childcare. The parents have busy schedules but are generally present on weekends, and one parent works from home on Fridays. The successful candidate should be equally comfortable maintaining an organized home, engaging with a toddler and stepping in when the parents have evening commitments or other plans.

The core schedule will be approximately 12 daytime hours on Friday and Saturday, with up to three additional hours of evening babysitting each day, plus approximately four hours of housekeeping on Sunday. The position will offer approximately 34 guaranteed hours per week, with the potential for additional guaranteed housekeeping hours on Monday.

Private accommodation can be provided throughout the candidate’s working block.

Household and childcare responsibilities will vary according to the family’s schedule. Childcare will always take priority whenever the candidate is responsible for the child. The family is seeking someone warm, practical, flexible and discreet who would enjoy becoming a dependable, long-term part of their weekend routine.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive shared-care and occasional sole-charge care for the child

• Supervise naps, monitor the child and assist with evening and bedtime routines

• Plan age-appropriate play, outings and activities when caring for the child

• Prepare and serve the child’s meals and snacks

• Complete general cleaning and tidying throughout the home, including the kitchen, bathrooms and living areas

• Manage household laundry and linens, as well as the child’s laundry and wardrobe

• Keep the nursery, play areas and shared household spaces tidy and organized

• Assist with household errands, grocery shopping and light meal preparation as agreed

• Coordinate with the parents and weekday nanny to maintain consistency in the child’s care

• Communicate openly with the parents regarding the child’s routine and any household priorities

• Provide occasional evening babysitting on Friday and Saturday

• Travel with the family on occasional weekends, if required

Qualifications

• Calm, warm and genuinely caring
• Experienced and confident with toddlers
• Knowledgeable about early childhood development
• Flexible and comfortable with daytime and evening care
• Proactive without feeling the need to keep the child constantly scheduled
• Organized, reliable and able to work independently
• Respectful of the family’s privacy and personal space

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of professional nanny experience
• Recent experience caring for infants and toddlers
• Excellent, verifiable professional references
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• CPR and first-aid certification
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, if required

Salary and Benefits
