Job Details:

Purpose

The Earned Media & Public Relations Assistant will support EEV's communications and outreach efforts by helping develop and execute earned media strategies that increase visibility and engagement. This position is ideal for a student interested in public relations, journalism, marketing, or communications. 

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing earned media strategies to promote EEV programs, initiatives, and events 

• Research media outlets, journalists, producers, and influencers to identify outreach opportunities 

• Draft press releases, media advisories, pitches, and other public relations materials 

• Coordinate and schedule radio, television, podcast, and media interview appearances for EEV leadership and subject matter experts 

• Maintain media contact databases and track media coverage 

• Monitor news and industry trends to identify timely media opportunities 

• Support event publicity, media relations, and related communications projects as assigned 

Required Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills 

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines 

• Familiarity with media relations, social media, or content creation 

Salary Range

$15.00 per hour
