Job Details: Job Location: GreenField Manor - Lancaster, NY, Position Type: Per Diem, Salary Range: $16.30 - $18.00Hourly, Job Shift: 1st Shift, Job Category: Facilities, Shift: PD, with varying daytime hours based on facility and resident transportation needs.

Position Summary:

Are you someone who enjoys helping others and takes pride in providing safe, dependable service?  As a Driver, you'll play an important role in supporting our residents by providing transportation to medical appointments, community outings, and other scheduled destinations.  More than just driving, you'll help residents safely enter and exit vehicles, assist with mobility equipment, and offer friendly, compassionate interactions that make every trip comfortable and enjoyable.

As part of our dedicated team, you'll help maintain our fleet of vehicles, complete transportation documentation, and support community events and daily operations when needed.  We're looking for someone who is reliable, organized, and committed to resident safety and exceptional customer service. Job responsibilities:

Drives residents to and from their requested appointments. Assisting into and from the vehicle and stowing any needed medical equipment.
Assist the Creative Arts department with resident functions occurring outside the community.
Operates GreenField cell phone to receive calls from doctor’s offices regarding resident pick-ups
Run errands for necessary community business.
Keep vehicle maintenance and mileage logs current.
Completes all daily and monthly paperwork
Fills gas in vehicles as needed.
Maintain vehicles in good operating condition. Ensure that the residents’ safety and comfort is maintained.
Clean company vehicles.
Participates in all mandatory in-services, training and meetings
Operation of bus/van lifts and restraint devices
Delivers mail to campus facility in an efficient manner
Interacts with residents in a professional and respectful manner
Plans daily time schedule to get residents to destination on a timely basis.
Other related duties that may become necessary
Adhere to driving appointment schedule.
Report any vehicle malfunctions to Maintenance supervisor and Creative Arts Director immediately.
Other related duties may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor and/or Executive Director.
Always adheres to dress code policy.
Always adheres to time and attendance policy.
Practices safe work habits and follows all safety procedures of the facility.
Assures the safety, security, and wellbeing of our residents

 
: EXPERIENCE: One year driving experience, 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma; GED

Valid NYS driver’s license class 1- 5 , prefer class C, no moving violations within past three years

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members visitors, government agencies/staff, and the general public.
Must be knowledgeable of practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
Must have patience, tact a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle challenging residents/associates.
Must be able to communicate with the staff, and other department supervisors.
Maintains a rapport with the residents and their families.
Must be willing to seek out new methods and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Must attend and participate in continuing educational programs.
Must have valid state of residence driver’s license.
May be required to use personal vehicle.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility.
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
Must be able to climb stairs.

Working Conditions:

Will work in a well lighted and ventilated area.
Will be subject to frequent interruptions.
May be asked to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.
May be subject to call-backs during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
Is subject to injury from falls, burns, from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke and other air contaminants.
