What You’ll do

As a Driver, you are responsible for the timely and safe transportation of residents to various individual and group activities/functions and medical appointments.

 Essential Job Duties:

 Picks up and delivers residents to all scheduled activities and appointments where transportation is needed.

1. Complete a safety check of the applicable vehicle (i.e., car or bus) before transporting residents to and from scheduled activities and appointments.
2. Accurately record vehicle mileage and resident attendance for all scheduled transportation.

 Other Duties:

 Maintains the cleanliness of the vehicle, inside and out.

1. Transports vehicle(s) to service locations for routine preventive maintenance on vehicle(s) as scheduled by supervisor.
2. Notifies supervisor of necessary repairs and vehicle malfunctions.
3. Immediately notifies supervisor of resident concerns, problems, or incidents. 
4. Makes miscellaneous runs for administration errands as necessary.
5. Maintains all tools, equipment, and supplies in proper condition.

What We’re Looking For:

• High school education is preferred. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
• Must possess a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL). 
• Must have a good driving record.
• Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with the residents at all times.
• Must be able to interpret and follow map directions.
• Must have a Passenger Endorsement 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must also be able to sit in a vehicle for up to six (6) hours per day; must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, and squat to load and unload cargo areas. Must have the ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on vehicles according to schedule. Keep vehicles clean. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds for handling luggage and resident groceries. May be exposed to the elements (rain, cold, heat) for short periods of time. Must have good driving skills in handling vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads.
