Donor Relations Officer II in Development

UTHealth Houston’s Office of Development and Alumni Engagement is looking for a Donor Relations Officer II to join our team. You will implement various pillars of our donor relations program, including acknowledgment, stewardship, recognition, and engagement activities. You will also cultivate positive relationships with internal and external partners, all of whom serve an integral role in our collaborative processes. Familiarity with comprehensive and integrated technology systems is essential.

You will work primarily remotely, with intermittent in-office days during the week as needed.  The office is in our University Center Tower, which is at the intersection of Fannin and Pressler.  This is a full-time salaried position that is eligible for all UTHealth Houston benefits.

Position Key Accountabilities:

• Project manages critical impact reporting and communication needs, ensuring tone and voice are consistent with sender and recipient, maintains accuracy and scientific integrity and a donor-centric point of view, and actively participates in writing and providing writing direction as needed.
• Executes multiple recognition and engagement strategies, ensuring delivery is timely, and touchpoints are appropriate and consistent to further strengthen the donor's relationship with the university.
• Ensures approved, multi-functional projects are implemented promptly and efficiently by anticipating potential needs on the team calendar and preparing status reports for assigned projects.
• Promotes a culture of philanthropy with key stakeholders throughout the university, with the goal of encouraging proper donor stewardship, recognition, and engagement.
• Enhances donor relations by maintaining excellent relations with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders to promote partnerships and collaborations in various projects and donor touchpoints.
• Manages and sends periodic gift acknowledgment reports for select faculty and staff who, subsequently, send notes of gratitude.
• Seeks opportunities for professional development to enhance job performance, including building networks within the University and with colleagues at peer institutions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education:

At least a Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.

Minimum Experience:

At least four (4) years of experience in development, stewardship, advancement services, communications, or related field, preferably in a complex healthcare or academic environment, is required.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive:

This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code §117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position. Personnel in such positions, and similarly situated state contractors, will be routinely reviewed to determine whether things such as criminal history or continuous connections to the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the applicant, employee, or contractor from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure. A foreign adversary is a nation listed in 15 C.F.R. §791.4.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
