Job Summary:

The Commercial Luxury (On-Premise) District Manager is responsible for driving growth, distribution, visibility, and brand advocacy for Trinchero Family Wine & Spirits Premium Luxury and Heritage portfolios within a defined geography. This role serves as the face of the Commercial Luxury business in market, focusing on high-impact regional on-premise accounts, independent restaurants, hotels, fine dining establishments, influential wine bars, and select fine wine retailers.

The Commercial Luxury District Manager operates with a 75% focus on Premium Luxury brands and a 25% focus on Heritage and opportunity brands, building lasting customer relationships, creating best-in-class brand activation programs, developing distributor capabilities, and delivering exceptional execution in market.

This is a highly visible field-based position, spending approximately 80% of working time in-market engaging customers, distributor partners, trade professionals, and consumers.

Market Execution: Minimum 80%

Customer Development & Account Management

• Assist and execute strategic business plans for key regional on-premise accounts, independent restaurants, hotels/resorts/country clubs, wine bars, and select fine wine retailers.
• Secure new placements, expanded distribution, by-the-glass features, menu visibility, and promotional opportunities for Commercial Luxury brands.
• Build strong relationships with beverage directors, sommeliers, buyers, operators, and ownership groups.
• Identify white-space opportunities and develop account-specific growth plans.
• Drive profitable depletion growth while maintaining focus on premiumization and brand equity.

Distributor Partnership & Execution

• Serve as the primary Commercial Luxury expert for distributor partners within assigned markets.
• Conduct ride-withs, coaching sessions, sales meetings, and training programs to improve distributor execution.
• Collaborate with distributor local teams to identify opportunities, remove execution barriers, and maximize Commercial Luxury performance, share of mind and share of menu.

Education & Training

• Lead educational programs for distributor sales teams, account staff, sommeliers, bartenders, servers, and retail associates.
• Deliver compelling wine and spirits education that builds confidence, advocacy, and recommendation rates.
• Support trade tastings, staff trainings, distributor education, and market workshops.

Consumer Engagement & Brand Activation

• Plan and execute impactful consumer events, wine dinners, tastings, festivals, and market activation programs.
• Create memorable brand experiences that drive awareness, trial, and loyalty.
• Partner with marketing and distributor teams to ensure activations align with brand strategy and return-on-investment expectations.
• Leverage local market insights to tailor programs to target consumers and accounts.

Planning & Programming: Minimum 20%

Marketing & Commercial Excellence

• Execute best-in-class market programs that elevate visibility and distribution of priority brands.
• Monitor competitive activity, market trends, and emerging luxury consumption opportunities.
• Provide marketplace intelligence and recommendations to leadership.
• Use sales tools: MS Office, KARMA, Trinchero Asset Portal (TAP), Datassentials, Circana, and Power BI to create fact-based selling stories, grow existing business, identify new opportunities, and track key marketing programs.
• Use Target and Key account lists, along with brand priorities, to proactively plan the fiscal year, month, week, and each selling day.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales and Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 Years of Experience.
• Preferred fine wine, luxury brand, or on-premise sales experience.
• Strong understanding of luxury consumer behavior and premium beverage trends.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and field sales experience with an emphasis on new business development, face-to-face selling, and ability to close the sale.
• Proven track record of achieving sales goals and growing distribution for premium brands in a branded product industry working through a 3rd party DSD or distributor network is a plus (e.g., the adult beverage, the wine industry, CPG, or other industry).
• Proven leader capable in building strong, positive, and effective relationships at account level.
• Strong business acumen; knows their industry, competition, and trends affecting their business.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and keen negotiation skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate and hold teams accountable through strong interpersonal and influence skills to produce results.
• Organized professional able to manage multiple (and often competing) priorities.
• Knowledge of state and federal liquor laws required is a plus.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.

Working Conditions:

• Frequent travel, both by car and air

• Ability to lift at least 45 pounds (case of wine)
• Regular working schedule to include evenings and weekends
• Long and irregular hours during peak seasons and/or special events
• Moderate to heavy physical work (moving wine cases and retail supplies, setting up for special events)

Salary Range: $80,000.00 -  $105,000.00  

The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location. TFE offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, PTO, wellness programs and fertility and family building benefits.   We also provide a 401(k) plan where TFE may make a discretionary profit-sharing contribution.
