Job Title: Dishwasher
Reports To: Restaurant Manager, Head Chef, Shift Leaders
Summary
The Restaurant Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, glassware, utensils, and
kitchen equipment. They play a crucial role in upholding the restaurant's hygiene standards and ensuring the smooth operation of
the kitchen.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
● Dishwashing
○ Operates the dishwashing machine efficiently, loading, washing, and unloading items according to established
procedures.
○ Pre-soaks and scrubs heavily soiled items as needed.
○ Washes items by hand when necessary, ensuring proper sanitation.
○ Inspects all cleaned items for cleanliness and any damage before storing or returning them to service.
● Kitchen Sanitation
○ Cleans and sanitizes all food preparation areas, including countertops, sinks, and cutting boards.
○
○ Sweeps and mops kitchen floors, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
○ Empties trash and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal.
○ Cleans and maintains the dishwashing area, including the machine, sinks, and storage areas.
● Organization and Efficiency
○ Stocks clean dishes, glassware, and utensils in designated areas.
○ Rotates stock to ensure freshness and prevent spoilage.
○ Assists with kitchen organization and storage as needed.
● Additional Duties
○ May assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables or washing produce.
○ May assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
○ Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Qualifications
● Experience: Prior experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
● Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
● Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and bend and stoop
frequently.
● Other: Must be able to work in a hot and humid environment. & Must be able to work as part of a team and maintain a
positive attitude.
