What You’ll Do
The Director of Recruitment builds and leads a high-performing, field-based
recruitment team supporting SGU's School of Medicine (SOM) and School of
Veterinary Medicine (SVM). This role owns recruitment strategy and execution
across a geographically dispersed U.S. territory structure, translating
national goals into territory-level plans that drive inquiry growth,

The Director collaborates closely with the Vice President of
Student Recruitment, and the Directors of Admissions for Med/Vet. The

results-driven operator who leverages data and process discipline to achieve
outcomes and advance SGU’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Recruitment & Admissions Leadership
- Own
and execute the U.S. field recruitment strategy across SOM and SVM,
driving performance at every funnel stage: inquiry → application → admit →
deposit. - Cultivate
territory-level dashboards and reporting that track KPIs and translate
insights into action. - Identify
underperforming territories or channels and reallocate resources,
coaching, or event investment accordingly. - Partner
with recruitment, admissions, and marketing leadership to keep field
strategy aligned to institutional enrollment goals.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of field-based admissions/recruitment professionals across multiple U.S. territories.
- Set clear individual and team KPIs; hold team accountable through regular one-on-ones, ride-alongs/event observation, and performance reviews.
- Ensure consistency of operations, professional growth, and alignment across all team members.
External Engagement & Brand Building
- Cultivate and expand relationships with pre-health/pre-vet advisors, campus clubs, alumni ambassadors, and other referral sources in key territories.
- Represent SGU at recruitment fairs, conferences, and campus events as a visible, credible ambassador of the institution.
- Continuously refine the prospective-student journey — event formats, follow-up communications, advising touchpoints — based on funnel data and field feedback.
Collaboration & Mission Alignment
- Work across admissions, financial aid, marketing, and academic affairs to keep the prospective-student experience seamless from first touch to enrollment.
- Uphold the highest standards of integrity and compliance in all recruitment activity, consistent with accreditation and institutional standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s
degree required; advanced degree preferred. - 6+
years of progressive recruitment or admissions experience, with at least 5
years in a leadership role. - Demonstrated
success in meeting or exceeding strategic recruitment goals in higher
education; health sciences or medical school experience preferred. - Expertise
in leveraging data analytics, market research, and CRM tools (Salesforce
preferred) to inform recruitment strategy and conversion campaigns. - Strong
operational management skills, with experience using dashboards, KPIs, and
reporting frameworks. - Proven
track record of managing high-performing, geographically dispersed teams
and delivering measurable results. - Excellent
communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with
internal stakeholders and external influencers. - Ability
to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment while maintaining mission
focus. - Willingness
to travel extensively (approx. 30%) across the U.S., including evenings
and weekends.
Skills & Competencies
- Dynamic,
results-driven leader who balances strategic vision with operational
execution. - Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills; able to translate data into
actionable strategies. - High
level of professional presence, inspiring trust in prospective students
and stakeholders. - Talent-focused
leader who develops, motivates, and holds team members accountable.
Work Environment & Travel
- Primarily
remote role with extensive travel (approx. 30%) across the U.S. for
admissions and recruitment activities. - Flexibility
to work evenings and weekends as required by recruitment events.
The anticipated salary range is $120,000 to $130,000 per
