Director, Product Management (PrintOps)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Product Management (PrintOps) based in the United States.

This is a senior product leadership role focused on evolving an established, complex product while expanding its reach into new markets.
You will take ownership of understanding how the product works today, including its history, customer workarounds, technical dependencies, and areas of hidden complexity.
The role combines customer discovery, product strategy, roadmap ownership, technical collaboration, and cross-functional communication.
You will work directly with enterprise customers to distinguish valuable market signals from individual requests and translate those insights into clear product decisions.
Partnering closely with Engineering, you will turn product direction into actionable work that can be built, tested, and delivered effectively.
You will also help the organization enter two new markets while protecting the reliability and trust established with its existing customer base.
This is a hands-on, autonomous opportunity for a product leader who enjoys solving complex problems, creating clarity, and making informed decisions in an evolving environment.

Accountabilities

• Own the full product lifecycle for an established and technically complex product area, from discovery and strategy through prioritization, development, delivery, and continuous improvement.

• Develop and maintain a clear understanding of how the product operates, including historical decisions, technical dependencies, customer workflows, workarounds, and areas of undocumented complexity.

• Define and maintain a transparent product roadmap where each initiative has a clear rationale, ownership, expected outcome, and strategic alignment.

• Evaluate signals from support requests, sales opportunities, customer feedback, market developments, and other sources to determine which issues require product action.

• Engage directly with enterprise customers through discovery conversations, pilots, advisory relationships, and challenging prioritization discussions.

• Make informed product decisions that balance customer commitments, technical constraints, business priorities, and opportunities in new markets.

• Translate product strategy and customer needs into clear requirements, epics, specifications, and actionable work that Engineering teams can build and validate.

• Work closely with Engineering to evaluate technical tradeoffs, clarify requirements, resolve ambiguity, and maintain momentum without relying on unnecessarily complex specifications.

• Coordinate with Sales, Support, Customer Success, Services, Marketing, and other stakeholders to ensure teams understand product changes, strategic decisions, and the reasoning behind them.

• Help guide the product's expansion into two new markets while maintaining a strong experience for the existing customer base.

• Use AI tools as an integrated part of product work, including discovery, research, synthesis, competitive analysis, documentation, and drafting product requirements.

• Continuously assess product performance, customer feedback, market opportunities, and delivery outcomes to refine priorities and improve product clarity and usability.

Requirements

• Significant product management experience owning a mature, complex product with an established customer base, rather than exclusively working on greenfield products.

• Demonstrated experience managing products with technical complexity, historical dependencies, customer-specific configurations, or undocumented workflows.

• Strong track record of working directly with enterprise customers through discovery calls, pilots, advisory relationships, feedback sessions, and complex product discussions.

• Experience translating ambiguous customer or market needs into clear product requirements and actionable development work.

• Strong ability to collaborate directly with Engineering and understand technical constraints, dependencies, implementation considerations, and product tradeoffs.

• Proven experience simplifying complex products, processes, or experiences and making them easier for customers and internal teams to understand and use.

• Strong product strategy and roadmap management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands based on customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, and strategic objectives.

• Ability to make thoughtful decisions with incomplete information while continuing to investigate and validate assumptions.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain product decisions clearly across technical and non-technical teams.

• Comfortable having difficult customer conversations, including setting expectations and explaining when requested functionality does not align with product direction.

• Highly autonomous and capable of taking ownership without relying on an established team or extensive organizational structure.

• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills, with a natural curiosity for understanding how complex systems work.

• Practical experience using AI tools for product discovery, synthesis, competitive research, documentation, epic development, and other product-management workflows.

• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve and product decisions need to be made without perfect information.

• Must currently reside in the United States and be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.

• Base salary of $145,000–$150,000, plus bonus eligibility.
