Director Patient Engagement and Consumer Marketing

Amgen is seeking a Director of Patient Engagement and Consumer Marketing to join the U.S. Oncology Marketing team. This is a critical leadership role within the U.S. Prostate Cancer business, responsible for shaping patient engagement and consumer marketing strategy and bringing the voice of patients, care partners, and the broader care community into strategic planning and execution.

The Director will build a high-impact consumer capability for a complex oncology market and lead launch readiness planning as the business grows. The successful candidate will combine deep patient and consumer marketing expertise with strategic thinking, cross-functional leadership, and a demonstrated ability to translate insight into action.

What you will do

·       Lead development of U.S. patient engagement and consumer marketing strategies, plans, and programs for the Prostate Cancer business.

·       Develop a deep understanding of patient, care partner, and customer journeys; use qualitative and quantitative insights to identify unmet needs and inform strategic priorities.

·       Translate insights into patient education, disease awareness, consumer activation, and customer experience initiatives that are measurable, compliant, and fit for purpose.

·       Build and manage an integrated learning agenda across market research, analytics, agency partners, advocacy engagement, and campaign performance; apply learning to optimize strategy and execution.

·       Lead agency strategy, content development, channel planning, budget management, governance, and performance measurement for patient and consumer initiatives.

·       Partner with U.S. HCP Marketing, Digital and Omnichannel, Market Research, Analytics, Medical, Access, Corporate Affairs, and other cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive customer experience.

·       Lead launch readiness for future lifecycle opportunities, building on insights, capabilities, and customer learning established through the initial phases of the business.

·       Partner closely with the HCP Promotion Director and other cross functional leaders to translate the integrated strategy into coordinated HCP and consumer plans, with clear accountabilities and execution priorities.

·       Operate in accordance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

·                Doctorate degree and 4 years of marketing and/or commercial experience, OR

·                Master’s degree and 8 years of marketing and/or commercial experience, OR

·                Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of marketing and/or commercial experience, OR

·                Associate’s degree and 12 years of marketing and/or commercial experience, OR

·                High school diploma / GED and 14 years of marketing and/or commercial experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

·                Demonstrated experience in patient engagement, consumer marketing, and/or HCP marketing experience, or related roles within biopharma or healthcare.

·                Oncology, specialty care, or complex-launch experience strongly preferred.

·                Experience leading integrated HCP and consumer marketing strategies and working effectively across commercial, medical, access, analytics, and corporate affairs functions.

·                Strong understanding of patient journeys, advocacy ecosystems, access considerations, and the needs of patients and care partners in serious disease.

·                Proven ability to lead agencies and cross-functional teams, manage complex projects and budgets, and deliver measurable business results.

·                Ability to work effectively in ambiguity, make sound strategic choices, and influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.

·                Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear recommendations.

Salary Range

184,336.10USD -249,395.90 USD
