As a Director of Outpatient Services, you will oversee the day to day functioning in an outpatient counseling office working with staff who empower, uplift and help others heal from the many forms of mental illness, trauma or addiction.  

To meet the increasing needs of our communities it is imperative that all team members understand and successfully reach and maintain the expected performance standard levels. In order to achieve total and sustainable success each person must to do their part. Lighthouse will do its part in providing any and all necessary tools and training required to help team members be successful. 

DEFINITION: 

Under immediate to general supervision, performs advanced level work involved in providing psychological and counseling services. This position is supervised by the Regional Director of Wellness and Recovery. 
QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Completion of the curriculum requirements of a Master’s degree in a mental health or substance abuse related field from an accredited university. 
Oklahoma State Licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Behavioral Practitioner, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. 
Two years experience in a professional capacity involving the delivery of clinical service or, any equivalent combination of education and experience 
Two years experience in a supervisory role. 

Considerable skill in working with people, in effectively treating social, emotional and addiction problems, in expressing ideas clearly and concisely in written and oral form, in exercising good judgment in evaluating situations and in making decisions. 
An expectation of core competencies in relation to individuals with co-occurring disorders, trauma informed care and collaborative care. 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

Knowledge of the principles and tests, the application of psychological theories with respect to group and individual behavior; of mental illness, it’s symptoms, treatment and social implications in relation to consumers and their family. 
Skill in diagnosing, assessing and developing care plans; evaluating a wide variety of clinical data; in carrying out courses of treatment; in counseling and guiding individuals and groups; and in communicating clearly, both orally and in writing. 
Knowledge of counseling and psychotherapy techniques for individuals, families and groups. 
Knowledge of the principles and practices of social work and/or psychology and of current social and economic problems. 
Knowledge of personality development and structure. 
Knowledge of counseling and rehabilitative approaches utilized with individuals diagnosed with Serious Mental Illness. 
Ability to evaluate situations and adopt an effective course of action, to delegate responsibilities, organize and present facts effectively. 
Able to establish working relationships within an integrated team to coordinate and  facilitate care by assessing consumer needs, evaluating treatment options, creating care plans, coordinating care with internal and external providers, and monitoring progress. 
Ability to work effectively and courteously with individuals and families from various cultures and backgrounds, and to exercise good clinical judgment. 
Responsible for leadership in the administration, planning, implementation and evaluation of counseling services.  
Ability to supervise the professional and support staff, budget administration, and formulation of unit policies and procedures. 
Specialized training and/or certification in mental health services or related field as may be required in order to provide adjunctive services, ie. Suicide Assessment and Trauma 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position is responsible and held accountable for the following duties: 
Provides interaction and communication with care teams, other clinics, CSU, URC, administration and community partners to coordinate the services provided by Lighthouse.  
Ensures fiscal responsibility of the clinic and agency by preparing the budget and supervising all expenditures. 
Promotes the professional development of staff by providing monthly supervision and developing Performance Improvement Plans to address specific employee needs. 
Provides effective and appropriate supervision by planning, organizing and implementing new training and educational opportunities.  
Ensures that the needs of consumers are addressed in emergency situations by coordinating and/or arranging for the provision of crisis intervention services during and after hours as needed.  
Prepares for and provides input at the Executive Management Team meeting and Outpatient Supervisors meetings.  
Promotes communication within the clinic by conducting regular staff meetings.  
Consults with the Performance Improvement Specialists and provides monitoring of clinical records to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements for clinical records.   
Ensures office effectiveness by handling office correspondence and interviews.  
Serves as a model for and communicates the function, mission and core values of Lighthouse to staff, consumers, community partners and the community at large.  
In conjunction with Human Resources, provides for continuity of care by recruiting, selecting, training and supervising clinic personnel.  
Provides clinical supervision for non-credentialed staff operating under the supervisor’s license, as assigned. 
Actively participates in and contributes to staff planning, and evaluation of services and staff performance.  
Completes monthly reports as assigned.  
Facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage those of other cultures of backgrounds.  
Remains competent and current through self directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development seminars, and attending training  and/or courses as required by Lighthouse and obtaining Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as required by state licensing and regulatory boards.   
Contributes to the overall success of Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Centers by performing all other duties as assigned.   
Completes all agency documentation of services in a thorough, accurate and timely manner. 
Develop cooperative working relationships within the local community to enhance consumer access to resources that support the individualized Care Plan goals.  
Employee must be willing and able to perform all job related travel normally associated with this position. 
Must meet agency standards of productivity and fiscal responsibility. 
Prepares for and actively participates in staff meeting and morning huddles and Care Planning staffing to discuss the diagnosis, etiology, treatment and disposition of patients. 
Must meet “satisfactory” expectations at any scheduled job performance evaluation, coaching and/or Performance Improvement Plans. 
Assessment and appraisal of quality of work will be evaluated through training, skill, chart review or special purpose.   
Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management as requested. 
Must perform the specific job duties as listed above to meet position expectations. 

In addition, must possess skill in working cooperatively and effectively with clients, staff, management and other professional and community groups; in exercising mature judgment in dealing with people; in presenting ideas clearly and accurately; in reading and comprehending the English language; and in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
