Vested is hiring a Director of Content Strategy to define, build, and lead content as a core capability of the agency. We are looking for an expert who thrives at both the strategic and executional levels, someone who can set a clear vision, establish how we deliver content at scale, and partner across teams to bring it to life.

You will shape what content means at Vested: how we think about it, how we create it, and how it drives results for our clients. You will play a central role in elevating the quality, consistency, and impact of everything we produce.

Practice Leadership

• Own and grow content strategy as a distinct practice area within Vested, setting the vision, positioning, and service offerings

• Develop a clear point of view on what exceptional content looks like at Vested and promote it internally and externally

• Establish Vested's content best practices across B2B and B2C financial services, style guides, editorial standards, and workflow processes

• Serve as the internal authority on content strategy, advising practice areas and account teams on content-related questions

• Identify and understand key financial services audiences engaging with our clients' content to enhance consumption and interaction with Vested's content strategies and development. 

Client Work & Program Delivery

• Lead or oversee delivery of content projects and retainers for clients, ensuring quality, consistency, and strategic alignment

• Serve as a senior content strategist and editor on key client engagements from initial strategy through execution

• Partner with PR, digital, and creative teams to ensure content programs are integrated and channel-appropriate

Team Development & Freelance Network

• Build and manage a bench of vetted fractional and freelance copywriters with expertise across financial services content types, including long-form thought leadership, blogs, web copy, advertising, email, and social media

• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level Vesties contributing to content programs

New Business Development

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities for content-led programs, including content strategy retainers, editorial programs, thought leadership campaigns, and multi-channel initiatives

• Lead or contribute to new business pitches and proposals where content is a primary or supporting component

• Partner with agency leadership and account teams to identify growth opportunities within existing client relationships

Training & Education

• Design and lead internal training sessions, workshops, and VestEds to upskill colleagues across content disciplines, including copywriting fundamentals, editing, writing for different formats and channels, and financial services nuances

• Foster a culture of content excellence across the agency

AI & Emerging Content Practices

• Develop and champion Vested's point of view and practical approach to AI-assisted content creation, including when and how to use AI-generated content, and how to edit, elevate, and quality-control AI outputs

• Stay current on evolving AI tools and content technologies, evaluating their relevance and applicability for Vested and its clients

• Establish guardrails and workflows that ensure AI-assisted content meets client expectations and regulatory considerations within financial services

Ideal Candidates will have:

• 8+ years of integrated content strategy, editorial, or content marketing experience, ideally with a significant portion spent in financial services, fintech, or a related B2B professional services environment

• Demonstrated experience leading or building a content practice, team, or function either within an agency or in-house

• Exceptional writing and editing skills across a variety of formats, with a strong command of financial topics and the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives

• Experience developing and winning new business, including contributing to pitches and proposals

• Proven ability to manage and develop a network of freelance or contract content talent

• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously

• Excellent communication and presentation skills; confident engaging with senior clients and internal stakeholders
