Director of Children's Ministry

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Children’s Ministry provides spiritual and operational leadership for FBA’s ministry to children in grades K-5, creating a Christ-centered environment where children hear the Gospel, grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, and are connected to the life of the church.

QUALIFICATIONS1.      Must have a growing and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ2.      Must align with FBA’s Statement of Faith, beliefs, mission, and values3.      Must be a current member of FBA or enrolled in First Class with the intention of becoming a member within the first three months of employment4.      Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field strongly preferred5.      Previous experience serving or leading in Children’s Ministry required6.      Demonstrated ability to lead staff and recruit, train, and equip volunteers7.      Strong interpersonal, relational, verbal, written, and presentation skills8.      Ability to develop and implement short- and long-range ministry goals, programs, and procedures9.      Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint10. Must support and model FBA’s culture and service expectations, including the Red Carpet Standard (H.E.A.R.T.) and 3M Strategy

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.      Provide spiritual and operational leadership for Children’s Ministry in alignment with FBA’s mission2.      Plan, oversee, and evaluate a comprehensive ministry for children in grades K-53.      Ensure biblical teaching, curriculum, and discipleship are consistent with Scripture and FBA’s Statement of Faith4.      Oversee Sunday School, missions education, VBS or equivalent programming, music, events, and other ministry opportunities5.      Create a welcoming environment that connects children and families to the life of FBA6.      Recruit, train, equip, and lead staff and volunteers with clear expectations, accountability, and encouragement7.      Develop strategies for ministry growth, outreach, follow-up, and engagement with children and families8.      Develop annual ministry goals, programming, calendar, and budget requests.9.      Collaborate with FBA ministries and departments to support church-wide programs, events, and initiatives
ADDITIONAL DUTIES

1. Support the overall ministry and mission of FBA
2. Model an authentic Christian witness through personal conduct, relationships, and servant leadership
3. Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports as required
4. Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable FBA and Family Ministry policies
5. Pursue appropriate ministry and professional development
6. Perform other related duties as assigned
