Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Director Nursing Perioperative Services at Dominican Hospital, you will be responsible for Surgical Services including Main OR, Pre-Op, Pre-Admit Testing, Short Stay, PACU, and SPD. We have 7 Operating Rooms which include 1 Hybrid-room for Cardiac proceedures.  Our surgical specialties include ortho, spine, open-hearts, general, GYN, vascular, neurology, and urology. 

Every day, you will direct the operations, work with Senior Leadership, the Business Manager Periop, and SPD Manager on key initiatives, and work with your front-line nursing leaders and staff to ensure we maintain high standards of patient care.  You will advise medical staff, other department heads, and administrators in matters related to patient care, clinical best practices, and strategies. You will communicate the organization’s goals to the staff as we constantly seek to better serve our community by improving patient experience and delivering exceptional care.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be an experienced Nursing Director, with a track record of success overseeing Perioperative services for an acute-care Hospital. To thrive in this role, you must be competent and confident, with excellent communication skills one-on-one and in front of groups. Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) or equivalent education and experience and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA) required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience required.

Required Licensure: 

• Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
