Director, Marketing Operations

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Marketing Operations based in the United States.

This role leads the strategy, architecture, and operating model that enables marketing to run as an integrated part of the revenue engine. You will own marketing systems, data integrity, lead lifecycle management, attribution, funnel reporting, and the technology roadmap. Working closely with marketing and revenue leadership, you will turn operational complexity into clear priorities, reliable processes, and actionable insights. You will lead a growing team while partnering across Sales Operations, Customer Success Operations, Deal Desk, Enablement, and Business Operations. The role combines strategic ownership with enough technical depth to independently assess systems, data, and configurations. It is ideal for a hands-on strategic leader who can challenge assumptions, establish standards, and drive meaningful improvements in a fast-moving B2B SaaS environment.

Accountabilities:

• Own the marketing operations roadmap, prioritizing systems improvements and new capabilities according to marketing and revenue objectives rather than incoming requests.
• Define and oversee marketing systems architecture and the integrity of data flowing between HubSpot and Salesforce, including object and field models, synchronization, enrichment, deduplication, and account and contact matching.
• Partner with Sales Operations to investigate and resolve discrepancies between marketing and sales reporting.
• Own the end-to-end lead lifecycle, including stage definitions, qualification criteria, scoring thresholds, routing logic, service levels, and sales handoffs.
• Establish alignment between marketing and sales on lifecycle definitions and maintain consistent application of those standards.
• Own campaign operations and attribution, ensuring performance measurement is rigorous, transparent, and appropriately interpreted in executive reviews.
• Serve as the owner of funnel and conversion reporting, providing trusted recommendations and insights rather than reporting numbers without context.
• Lead marketing technology strategy, including build-versus-buy decisions, vendor assessments, renewals, consolidation, and overall stack costs.
• Establish governance for marketing systems, including access controls, testing procedures, documentation, change management, and requirements definition.
• Oversee practical marketing data compliance, including consent management, suppression, and unsubscribe processes, partnering with Legal when necessary.
• Manage, coach, and develop the marketing operations team while hiring and leading additional team members as the function grows.
• Set team priorities and capacity allocation to ensure resources remain focused on the highest-value initiatives.
• Partner with Enablement and Sales Operations to ensure changes to routing, lifecycle processes, and definitions are communicated effectively to the field.
• Monitor operational performance through measures such as speed-to-lead, routing accuracy, data quality, reporting reliability, roadmap delivery, technology costs, attribution adoption, and team development.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in marketing operations, revenue operations, or a closely related function, including at least 2 years of people management experience.
• Strong technical fluency with marketing automation and CRM platforms, ideally HubSpot and Salesforce, including experience overseeing their integration.
• Ability to independently inspect and evaluate system configurations, workflows, and data structures without needing to be the primary day-to-day builder.
• Experience with lead routing and meeting-scheduling platforms such as Chili Piper, with a strong understanding of effective routing and speed-to-lead practices.
• Proven experience designing and implementing lead lifecycle and qualification frameworks from complex or inconsistent starting points and securing alignment across marketing and sales.
• Strong analytical and data management skills, including experience with field and object design, data quality, definitional consistency, and reconciliation across multiple sources.
• Deep understanding of marketing funnel metrics and the ability to present, defend, and communicate strategic recommendations to senior marketing and revenue leaders.
• Experience owning vendor evaluations, negotiations, renewals, consolidation decisions, and decisions to discontinue technology solutions.
• Genuine fluency with AI tools and the ability to use them to build, analyze, automate, and specify workflows at scale.
• Excellent written communication skills, with a strong ability to document decisions, requirements, processes, and operating standards.
• SQL experience or comfort working directly with data warehouses and business intelligence tools is strongly preferred.
• Experience with website operations, including content management systems, forms, tracking, and collaboration with web development teams, is a plus.
• B2B SaaS experience, ideally within an organization where Marketing Operations operates as part of a centralized Revenue Operations function.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Curiosity about emerging AI applications and demonstrated ability to integrate generative AI into everyday workflows to improve productivity, quality, and output.
