Director, Clinical Supply Chain (or Senior)

We are seeking an experienced Director, Supply Chain (or Senior Director) This is a fully remote position, and the successful candidate can live in any of the continental US states.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the SVP of Technical Operations, the Director of Supply Chain provides strategic and operational leadership for the end-to-end clinical supply chain, ensuring uninterrupted availability of investigational products to support BioAge's clinical development programs through close collaboration with CMC, Clinical Operations, Program Management, Quality, and external partners.

Job Duties:

• Develop and lead the clinical supply strategy to ensure uninterrupted delivery of investigational products, comparators, and ancillary supplies for global clinical trials.
• Own end-to-end clinical supply planning, forecasting, inventory management, labeling, packaging, distribution, and returns across all clinical development programs.
• Partner closely with Clinical Operations to align supply plans with enrollment forecasts, protocol amendments, country expansion, and study execution timelines.
• Collaborate with Program Management to integrate clinical supply activities into cross-functional development plans, identify risks, and ensure execution against key program milestones.
• Serve as the clinical supply lead within the CMC/Technical Operations organization, translating manufacturing and release plans into robust clinical supply strategies.
• Lead cross-functional planning with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical Operations, and external partners to ensure timely availability of clinical trial materials.
• Select, manage, and oversee clinical supply vendors, including depots, packaging and labeling organizations, IRT providers, and logistics partners, ensuring quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain clinical supply plans that optimize inventory while minimizing waste, expiry risk, and manufacturing burden.
• Ensure compliance with applicable GxP regulations, Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and company quality systems governing clinical supply operations.
• Identify supply chain risks, develop mitigation strategies, and lead contingency planning to minimize impact on clinical trial execution.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for clinical supply operations, vendor performance, inventory health, and on-time delivery.
• Provide strategic input into CMC development, manufacturing campaigns, and regulatory planning to support clinical program objectives.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting for clinical supply activities and manage external vendor contracts and expenditures.
• Build, mentor, and develop the clinical supply organization, fostering operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Drive implementation and optimization of clinical supply systems, processes, and best practices to support organizational growth and increasing clinical complexity.
• Represent Clinical Supply on cross-functional governance teams and provide executive-level updates on supply readiness, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Business, or a related scientific discipline required.
• Advanced degree (MBA, M.S., Pharm.D., or Ph.D.) preferred.

• 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology clinical supply chain, pharmaceutical operations, CMC, or related technical operations functions.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in biotech or pharmaceutical setting.
• Experience supporting Phase 1 through Phase 3 clinical development programs, including global clinical trials.
• Experience working with both internal manufacturing organizations and contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs).
• Demonstrated success leading clinical supply strategy for multiple development programs simultaneously.
• Experience implementing or optimizing clinical supply systems and processes (e.g., IRT/RTSM, ERP, inventory planning systems) is preferred.
• Experience in a clinical-stage biotechnology company is highly desirable.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end clinical supply chain management, including planning, forecasting, packaging, labeling, distribution, inventory management, and logistics for investigational products.
• Strong knowledge of GxP, GMP, GDP, ICH guidelines, and global regulatory requirements governing clinical trial supplies.
• Proven ability to develop and execute clinical supply strategies that support multiple concurrent clinical programs and evolving development timelines.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders across Technical Operations, Clinical Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and Program Management.
• Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks, prioritize competing demands, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Experience selecting and managing external vendors, including clinical packaging organizations, depots, logistics providers, and IRT/clinical supply technology vendors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex supply strategies and risks to senior leadership.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience building, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative biotechnology environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting first-in-human and early clinical development programs.
• Experience with biologics, small molecules, peptides, or combination products.
• Experience with global clinical supply distribution across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
• Familiarity with demand planning, supply chain analytics, and digital clinical supply tools.
• Demonstrated success building clinical supply capabilities in a growing biotech organization.
