A 20-year-old male in the Eastwood area is looking for a Direct support professional to assist him at home. He is looking for assistance with getting off his school bus and keeping busy at home and sometimes in the community.
He spends most of his days at school. When home, he enjoys to play with toys that make noise like music, vibration and lights. He enjoys taking car rides and being around others. He is non verbal but communicates through facial expressions and movements. He would like to go to parks, enjoy nature and to libraries.
The ideal candidate is creative and engaging, active and patient, and willing to travel to different locations. The ideal candidate must be willing to learn about different movement and facial expressions as a form of communication. The ideal candidate must also be willing to provide personal care when needed, able to lift him and push a wheelchair around.
This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services.

Monday – Friday 230pm-7pm, Flexible with days.
Respite: Starting pay is $19.25/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.

Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be at least 18 years old
Effective communication and organizational skills required.
Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
