1:1 Part-Time Support Staff Needed – Syracuse NY (AN –PS)

-A 38-year-old female in the Fairmount area who is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist her with, money management, staying active in the community, and choosing activities that align with her interest.

Hobbies, interests what they like to do and where/how they like to spend their time

With her free time, she enjoys writing in her journal and going to Dunkin Doughnuts for her favorite iced coffee. She also likes helping people with computer-related issues, watching cartoons, comedy shows, and basketball, Her favorite music artist is Justine Bieber. If she develops any additional interest, she will let you know.

List what an ideal candidate will need to work with this person- especially if there are some behaviors

The ideal candidate is patient, speaks clearly and at a measured pace, and demonstrates strong understanding of the material. They are willing to work with verbally aggressive individuals and consistently provide verbal encouragement.

The ideal candidate must be willing to provide guidance on budgeting and encourage the individual to prioritize essential expenses over non-essential purchases. This includes creating a spending plan and determining a specific amount to save.

The ideal candidate must be creative in discussing and exploring different activities based on her interests and preferences, choosing activities she enjoys that also promote positive community involvement.

This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services.

Hours and days of work: Looking for 5 days a week, Monday-Friday from 3:30-6PM

Starting pay: Starting pay is $17.50/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.

Location: Fairmount/Syracuse NY.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license 
Must be at least 18 years old
Effective communication and organizational skills required.
Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
