Part-Time Support Staff Needed – Syracuse, NY (AN –CS)

A 45-year-old female in the Syracuse, New York area who is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist her with, maintaining a clean and safe home, explore resources for a healthy lifestyle, and increasing her independence.

With her free time, she enjoys going shopping, socializing, and taking walks in community parks. She also likes coloring and participating in group activities such as bingo and a coloring club. She requires assistance with scheduling cab rides and receiving reminders for those appointments. She would also like to return to GED classes once she has a stable place to live. Staff may encourage her to explore other free activities in the community that may interest her.

The ideal candidate should be engaging, patient to understand her situation, and willing to assist with making calls and scheduling appointments, including helping her find apartments and contact potential landlords.

The ideal candidate must be creative in discussing and exploring different activities based on her interests and preferences, choosing activities she enjoys that also promote positive community involvement.

This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency.

Hours and days of work: Looking for 5 days a week, Monday-Friday from 9AM-2PM

Starting pay: Starting pay is $19.25 /hour and increases with years of relevant experience.

Location: Syracuse, NY
Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license 
Must be at least 18 years old
Effective communication and organizational skills required.
Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
