Heartland Industries of Moorhead are seeking reliable Job Facilitators & Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for Full-Time 30+ hours per week and Part-Time less than 30 hours per week. 

Position Details:

The Direct Support Professional – Job Coach provides individualized employment support to individuals with disabilities. This position works alongside the people we serve at Heartland Industries and in community-based employment settings to provide on-the-job instruction, mentorship, encouragement, and support.

The Job Coach helps individuals learn job responsibilities, develop workplace skills, meet employer expectations, and work toward greater independence. This position also communicates with employers and Heartland team members to identify training needs and support successful employment outcomes.

• Requirements: Must be 21 or older and have a Driver's License/No driving violations in the past 3 years. Must be able to pass a background check. All required training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized on-the-job instruction, coaching, and mentorship to individuals with disabilities.
• Work alongside individuals to teach and reinforce appropriate workplace behaviors, job skills, and safety practices.
• Support individuals in learning job duties and meeting established workplace standards.
• Supervise and support small work teams completing contracted services for local businesses and community partners.
• Assist individuals in developing skills that promote independence and successful employment.
• Communicate with employers regarding job expectations, training needs, performance, and potential accommodations.
• Help identify strategies and accommodations that can improve an individual's workplace performance.
• Assist individuals with job searches and identifying potential employment opportunities.
• Support individuals in developing and maintaining positive relationships with employers and coworkers.
• Document individual progress, job performance, goals, and other required information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in team meetings to evaluate progress, discuss goals, and develop strategies to help individuals attain and retain employment.
• Safely transport individuals when required as part of employment-related activities.
• Maintain flexibility and composure while working independently or as part of a team.
• Complete all required training and competency-based education.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent sitting, standing, bending, walking, reaching, pushing and pulling
• Occasional lifting and carrying of 35lbs to 50lbs.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities preferred:

• Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental health, human services, caregiving, education, or a related field.
• Previous experience in job coaching, vocational rehabilitation, employment services, or workforce development.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Great communication skills, verbal and written
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work with others effectively and as a team
• Ability to visually observe clients
