As a DSP, you’ll work one-on-one with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD), supporting daily routines, community involvement, and personal goals in a way that is engaging, respectful, and empowering.

What You’ll Do

• Support daily routines (cooking, cleaning, personal care with the client)
• Help clients get into the community and stay engaged
• Follow care plans and goals
• Communicate with families and your team
• Complete notes and documentation 
• Ensure safety and well-being at all times

Current Clients Needing Additional Support

Client 1 (Troutdale): 

• Female | 6 yrs | 97060
• Schedule: any day of the week 4pm - 7pm. Open to on call/back up DSP or someone willing to work a more flexible schedule
• Likes: This client is creative, artistic and athletic. She enjoys coloring, painting and climbing. She also enjoys movies and technology.
• Needs: The family is requesting someone who will not be bothered by the client being affectionate and can meet the client with empathy and compassion. The client is working on increasing clarity and consistency in her expressive communication, working towards independence with toileting, using strategies to support emotional regulation and the family would like the client to get out in the community to practice social skills, appropriate behaviors and safety techniques in her environment

Client 2 (Gresham): 

• Male | 5 yrs | 97030
• Schedule: Weekends mostly. Also looking for an on call DSP.
• Likes: He is a bright, curious, and humorous young boy who enjoys music, electronics, and dancing. He benefits from structure and positive reinforcement and has a strong connection with his mother.
• Needs: He is learning to communicate his needs more clearly, increase his independence with daily living tasks, and participate in community activities. His support team focuses on helping him express himself appropriately, build social skills, reduce challenging behaviors, and stay safe while exploring his interests.

Client 3 (Gresham): 

• Female | 9 yrs | 97030
• Schedule: After school on Tuesday and weekends
• Likes: She is a young child who is non-verbal and communicates using vocalizations, facial expressions, gestures, eye contact, and an AAC device with TouchChat. She is known for her strength, determination, creativity, sense of humor, and affectionate nature. She enjoys familiar comfort items such as her blankets and baby doll, watching movies like Moana, and spending time with her family, including her sibling.
• Needs: She benefits from predictable routines, advance planning, and adults who carefully observe and respond to her cues. She requires close supervision and support with daily living skills, safety awareness, and emotional regulation, and she does best when caregivers follow her lead, maintain a calm approach, and prioritize her safety and well-being at all times.

Requirements

• 18+ years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year of caregiving or related experience
• Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
• Smartphone required
• Must be able to successfully pass all state-required background checks and meet all ODDS employment eligibility requirements.
• CPR/First Aid/AED (or willing to obtain)
