We are currently hiring primarily for evening, weekend, and overnight shifts. Part-time schedules vary based on program needs, available shifts, and employee availability.

Current Shift Needs

Our greatest staffing needs are currently:

• Evenings: Primarily 3:00 PM–10:00 PM, with some shifts beginning between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM

• Weekends: A variety of Saturday and Sunday daytime and evening shifts

• Overnights: Awake and asleep overnight opportunities may be available depending on the residential location

Weekday daytime-only openings are currently limited. Applicants with regular evening, weekend, and/or overnight availability are strongly encouraged to apply.

Position Summary

MYEP is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support adults with disabilities in our residential program. Direct Support Professionals assist individuals in their homes and communities while promoting independence, dignity, choice, and meaningful daily experiences.

Staff provide supervision, guidance, and assistance with daily living activities while supporting individuals in developing skills, maintaining relationships, and participating in their communities.

Our residential services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and staff schedules are developed around the support needs of the individuals we serve.

This position requires reliability, strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while providing respectful, person-centered support.

Compensation

The residential DSP base starting rate is $15.00 per hour, with the potential for a higher starting rate based on relevant education and experience.

Some residential locations support individuals with higher or skilled medical care needs and may pay an additional $2.00–$4.00 per hour, depending on the specific assignment and level of care required.

Assignment to a higher-paying or skilled medical care location is not guaranteed. Placement is based on agency needs, employee qualifications, training, availability, and the needs of the individuals served.

Certain shifts may also have different compensation structures. Asleep overnight shifts are paid at $9.00 per hour during designated sleeping hours, generally 10:00 PM–8:00 AM, in accordance with MYEP policy. Hours worked outside of the designated sleeping period are paid at the employee's applicable regular rate.

MYEP reserves the right to modify compensation structures, including applicable differentials, in accordance with organizational policies and applicable law.

Part-Time Scheduling

This position is classified as part-time.

MYEP's goal is generally to schedule part-time employees for fewer than 30 hours per week when possible. The number of hours available may vary from week to week based on:

• Program and staffing needs

• Employee availability

• Location assignment

• Individual support needs

• Available open shifts

Part-time employment does not guarantee a specific or minimum number of hours per week.

Additional shifts may occasionally become available, but employees should not rely on additional hours being consistently available.

Full-time positions become available regularly, and eligible part-time employees are encouraged to apply for full-time opportunities as they are posted.

Primary Responsibilities May Include

Daily Living Support

• Assisting individuals with daily routines and household activities

• Supporting meal preparation and basic cooking tasks

• Encouraging independence with personal care and hygiene

• Providing hands-on personal care and physical assistance when needed

• Assisting with organization, budgeting, and daily planning

Community & Social Support

• Supporting individuals during community activities, appointments, and outings

• Encouraging social engagement and skill development

• Helping individuals build relationships and participate in meaningful activities

• Providing transportation when required as part of the employee's assigned duties

Health & Safety Support

• Monitoring the general health, safety, and wellbeing of individuals supported

• Administering medications after successful completion of required training

• Recognizing and reporting changes in health, mood, behavior, or functioning

• Following individualized health, safety, and behavioral support plans

• Providing additional medical or personal-care support when assigned and appropriately trained

Documentation & Communication

• Completing progress notes and other required documentation for each shift

• Accurately documenting services provided

• Communicating important information to supervisors and team members

• Following individual service plans, agency policies, and established procedures

Work Environment

Residential Direct Support Professionals typically work in small residential homes supporting a small group of individuals. Depending on the home and shift, staff may work independently or as part of a team.

Employees may be assigned to one or more residential locations based on agency staffing needs, employee qualifications, availability, training, and the needs of the individuals served.

While MYEP makes reasonable efforts to provide consistency in assignments, placement at a specific home, location, shift, or pay differential is not guaranteed. Employees may be reassigned to another MYEP worksite when needed to support individuals served or meet agency staffing needs.

Employees are expected to work their assigned schedules reliably and may occasionally be asked to adjust their schedules or pick up additional shifts based on program needs.
