A 19-year-old female in the Mattydale area is looking for a female Direct Support Professional to assist her with learning independent living skills, participating in hobbies or classes of interest, and improving positive communication skills.

She enjoys going to the library, attending small group events, going bowling, going to the gym, making bracelet crafts, and being outdoors. She enjoys art and music. She also likes learning new things and exploring her community.

The ideal candidate is open-minded and willing to listen. The ideal candidate must be physically capable of participating alongside this person in their activities of choice. The ideal candidate is extremely patient and understanding, as this person may have challenging behaviors at times or may lash out verbally. The ideal candidate is motivating and encouraging.

This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency.

Hours and days of work: Flexible days and times, up to 20 hours per week.

Starting pay: $19.25/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.

Location: Mattydale, NY

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.

 
Qualifications
Must have a valid driver's license 
Must be at least 18 years old
Effective communication and organizational skills required.
Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
