Direct Support Professional, DSP

At Covenant Case Management Services (CCMS), we believe in empowering individuals to Thrive with Purpose. We are looking for a dedicated, patient, and experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support for an energetic youth with Autism in Concord, NC.

This role is ideal for a caregiver who understands behavioral communication, feels comfortable managing deep sensory processing needs, and excels at proactive de-escalation. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, calm environment while guiding evening routines and helping him build everyday life skills.

Schedule & Pay Rates

• Schedule: Monday – Friday | 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

• Community Living Support (CLS): 15 hours/week @ $18.00 / hour

• Respite Support: As needed @ $15.00 / hour

Key Responsibilities

• Provide structured 1-on-1 support and companionship during weekday evening hours.

• Support deep sensory needs through engaging sensory activities, heavy work routines, and calming strategies.

• Assist with evening hygiene routines (bathing and brushing teeth) using creative, patient, and sensory-friendly approaches to work through task refusal.

• Proactively recognize triggers to maintain a safe environment, safely managing occasional behaviors (such as property damage or self-injury) using positive redirection and calm de-escalation techniques.

• Maintain clear communication and complete accurate daily documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience: Direct experience supporting individuals with Autism, sensory processing needs, or high behavioral support needs is strongly preferred.

• Skills: Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills (formal training like NCI or Safety-Care is a major plus).

• Attributes: High level of patience, calm presence under pressure, physical stamina, and a heart-centered approach to care.

• Requirements: High school diploma/GED, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, active auto insurance, and ability to pass a background check.
