A 57-year-old man living in the Fayetteville area is looking for a direct support professional to assist him with pursuing his hobbies, providing support while navigating his community, improving his social skills, and teaching skills for independent living.

This individual is hoping to find more opportunities to connect with others in the community. He wishes to be able to have more friends and without the support from his DSP he can become too shy to reach out to anyone new. Attending Indera hosted events and finding local events of his interest would be beneficial for him. In addition to improving his social skills, this man would like assistance with maintaining his home and being provided with reminders to complete chores such as laundry and grocery shopping.

This candidate should be caring, patient, and comfortable with providing reminders to the individual to complete personal hygiene routines. This candidate should be a good listener and able to navigate the community to find events of interest.

This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services.

Availability: Mon-Wed 8am-6pm and Sat-Sun 8am-6pm

Starting pay is $19.25/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.

Location: Fayetteville, NY

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.

 
Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license 
Must be at least 18 years old
Effective communication and organizational skills required.
Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by Indera's technology policy.
