1:1 Part-Time Support Staff Needed – Syracuse, NY (CA – JJ)

A 66-year-old male in the Syracuse area is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him with getting out in the community, finding more activities he’d like to participate in, and conversing with others out in the community. He loves creating art and making books. He likes coffee breaks, classic cars, bowling, shooting hoops and going to basketball games, cooking, dressing up for Halloween, concerts, art shows, movies, and going to the library and the zoo. He also enjoys watching the planes take off and land at the airport. The ideal candidate is creative, engaging, patient, and willing to travel to different locations. The ideal candidate must also be able to support someone on stairs and uneven terrain.

This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency.

Hours and days of work: 9 hours per week, flexible.

Starting pay: Starting pay is $19.25/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.

Must have a valid drivers license 
Effective communication and organizational skills required.
Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
