Direct Support Professional

Job Details: Job Location: New Horizons - Lake Havasu City, AZ, Salary Range: Undisclosed, New Horizons is a non-profit organization that has been supporting Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities in Lake Havasu City, AZ for over 50 years. We pride ourselves in community integration with the support we provide through various programs, which include, eight residential settings, day programs, habilitation, and group supported employment. New Horizons is looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to empower individuals with lifelong disabilities to enjoy life by promoting abilities and respecting personal choice.

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Responsibilities:

Support individuals with daily living skills and personal care
Assist with meals, household routines, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment
Support individuals with activities, appointments, outings, and community involvement
Encourage independence, choice, and personal growth
Provide transportation as needed
Follow individualized support and behavior plans
Complete daily documentation and required records
Administer medications after completing required training
Build positive, respectful relationships with the individuals you support
Work as part of a team to provide consistent, quality support

Qualifications:
Be at least 21 years of age
Have a valid driver's license and meet applicable driving requirements
Successfully complete required background and pre-employment requirements
Be willing and able to complete required training and certifications
Be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
