At The Village at Rockville, a premier senior living community, we are seeking a talented Part-Time Dining Cook who brings creativity, attention to detail, and refined culinary skills to every dish they prepare. This role is ideal for an experienced cook who takes pride in elegant food presentation, exceptional flavor, and providing exceptional hospitality to residents and guests.

As a Dining Cook at The Village at Rockville, you will play a vital role in creating delicious, restaurant-quality meals that enhance the daily lives of our residents while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service. Through your culinary expertise and commitment to hospitality, you'll help create meaningful dining experiences that bring comfort, connection, and joy to those we serve.

Compensation

$21.00 – $23.00 per hour
Final compensation is based on demonstrated skills, relevant experience, and qualifications.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality entrées, soups, sides, desserts, and daily specials for residents and guests.
• Demonstrate elegant cooking techniques and professional food presentation that enhance the dining experience.
• Create meals that are both nutritious and visually appealing while meeting residents' preferences and dietary needs.
• Follow therapeutic, modified texture, and special diet guidelines as directed by the culinary and clinical teams.
• Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes, quality standards, and food safety regulations.
• Serve as an ambassador of hospitality by fostering positive interactions with residents and responding to dining requests with professionalism and care.
• Support special events, holiday celebrations, and resident-focused dining experiences.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, portion control, and proper storage procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with health department standards.
• Collaborate with dining team members to create a warm, welcoming restaurant-style dining experience for residents.

What We're Looking For

• Previous cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, country club, hotel, or restaurant environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of preparing meals for older adults with diverse dietary requirements and preferences.
• Passion for hospitality and enhancing quality of life through exceptional dining experiences.
• Ability to execute elegant cooking techniques with attention to flavor, presentation, and consistency.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention practices.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered service.
• Ability to read and speak English.
