Justice Action Center (JAC) is a start-up social justice organization that combines the power of storytelling with impact litigation to bring justice to immigrant communities. We focus on fulfilling unmet needs historically overlooked in the nonprofit immigration space through creative communications and legal strategies that center the needs and experiences of our plaintiffs.  JAC’s values include impact, creativity, and collaboration. JAC’s work includes Supreme Court campaigns, including the successful campaign to defend the Biden administration’s decision to end the cruel Remain in Mexico policy; authorship of a Litigation Tracker website and newsletter to keep abreast of anti-immigrant lawsuits filed by states; and active impact litigation throughout the country on behalf of immigrant communities.

Reporting to the Digital Director, the Digital Design & Content Coordinator helps create and execute JAC’s digital content across social media, email, and web.

This role is ideal for an early-career digital communicator who is already a strong visual creator: someone who can design polished, brand-aligned graphics quickly; edit short-form social video; draft strong online advocacy copy; and translate complex legal and policy developments into clear, accurate, dignified, and engaging digital content.

The Coordinator will help turn approved messaging, legal updates, client stories, campaign priorities, and partner materials into content that advances JAC’s immigrant justice mission. The ideal candidate understands that digital content is not just informational or aesthetic — it is a tool for driving audience engagement and narrative change.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Create digital content for JAC’s social, email, web, and campaign channels, including graphics, carousels, quote cards, explainers, templates, digital forms, and other creative assets.
• Produce and edit short-form videos for social media, including captions, clips, transitions, text overlays, and platform-specific formatting.
• Draft clear and compelling social copy, including captions, post text, calls to action, and short-form explainers that make complex legal and policy issues accessible.
• Support rapid-response moments by preparing timely graphics, captions, short videos, web updates, and other digital materials as news breaks or cases develop.
• Help prepare assets and toolkits for influencer, content creator, coalition and partner engagement as needed.
• Assist with basic content monitoring and engagement tracking across social, email, and web channels to identify timely opportunities and trends. 
• Make routine day-to-day updates to JAC’s websites and digital actions.
• Support dignified storytelling that highlights JAC’s clients, class members, partners, and impacted communities, using approved story bank materials and messaging guidance. .

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 
• No experience is required, however, 1-2 years of relevant experience creating digital content, including social media graphics, short-form video, digital storytelling, campaign materials, or other online content is preferred.
• Experience with advocacy, nonprofit, movement-building, campaign, or mission-driven communications is preferred.

Skills Needed

• Strong visual design skills, with a solid understanding of layout, typography, color, visual hierarchy, accessibility, and platform-specific best practices.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools, with the ability to create polished, brand-aligned materials quickly.
• Short-form video editing skills, including clips, captions, text overlays, transitions, and formatting for social media platforms.
• Strong writing and copyediting skills, especially for social media captions, calls to action, short-form explainers, and advocacy content.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and adapt when priorities shift. 
• Basic website management experience, including WordPress or a similar content management system.   
• Creative instincts and demonstrated commitment to immigrant justice, social justice, or mission-driven advocacy.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and commitment to accuracy.
• Spanish fluency is strongly preferred but not required.

• 100% remote position
• Must reside and work in the United States
• Occasional out-of-state travel required
