About Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center

Located the South Metro area, Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center is a full-service medical center, with the friendly feel of a community hospital and the skill and services of a much larger medical center. Among our specialties: stroke, chest pain, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, cancer care and orthopedic and total joint surgery. Plus, a birth center and breast health center.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As a Dietitian, you will partner with patients and care teams to provide comprehensive nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that support each patient's treatment goals.

In this role, you will:

• Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments and identify patients at risk for malnutrition.
• Develop individualized nutrition care plans using evidence-based practice.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and families.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Exercise order-writing privileges in accordance with CMS guidelines, state regulations, and hospital policy.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and best-practice development.
• Maintain professional competency and clinical excellence through ongoing learning and development.

Qualifications

Education:

• Completion of a Bachelor’s or graduate level degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent field from an accredited university/college required.

• Completion of a Dietitian Internship or Coordinated Program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) required.

Skills:         

• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form to patients, public, physicians and interdisciplinary health care team. 
• Able to function independently on assigned patient care units. 
• General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing and spreadsheet software. 
• Basic familiarity with computers preferred.

Licensure

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist through the Commission on Dietetic Registration required.
• Licensed Dietitian by the Oregon Health Licensing Board of Licensed Dietitians required, or for practice in Washington State, Dietitian Certification through the Washington State Department of Health required.

• Must be eligible for registration at the time of hire and pass the registration examination within 6 months of hire (180 Days).

Pay Range

USD $34.60 - USD $49.48 /Hr.
