Position Overview

Cherry Hills Christian School is seeking a highly organized, relational, and proactive Development Coordinator to join our Enrollment, Engagement and Development team and help advance CHC’s mission through donor stewardship, development operations, and the execution of school giving initiatives.

The Development Coordinator plays an integral role in creating an exceptional donor experience and supporting the school’s efforts to cultivate a culture of generosity and mission partnership. Working collaboratively with the Director of Enrollment & Engagement, Head of School, Finance, Marketing, faculty, staff, and volunteers, this position coordinates annual giving initiatives, donor communications and stewardship, development events, database management, and reporting.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, relationally gifted, and committed to serving others with excellence. This individual will demonstrate a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and understand generosity as an expression of gratitude, stewardship, and partnership in the mission of Christian education.

Key Responsibilities

Development Operations & Stewardship

· Maintain accurate donor records, gifts, pledges, stewardship activity, and follow-up in Bloomerang

· Coordinate donor acknowledgments, thank-you letters, giving records, donor lists, and development reporting

· Collaborate with Finance to support accurate gift processing and reconciliation

· Monitor donor activity and coordinate with the Head of School’s Administrative Assistant regarding donor calls, personal thank-you notes, and other Head of School stewardship follow-up

· Help ensure donors are thanked, recognized, and cared for in a thoughtful, personal, and mission-centered way

· Maintain organized and accurate systems for donor information, correspondence, deadlines, and follow-up

· Maintain confidentiality and discretion with donor and financial information

Giving Initiatives & Events

· Coordinate the operational execution of Grateful Giving, including timelines, communications, giving materials, participation tracking, and follow-up

· Help execute the Faculty & Staff Christmas Blessing, including donor communications, gift tracking, acknowledgments, and stewardship

· Coordinate development-related components of CHC’s Fun Run and other school giving initiatives

· Coordinate donor coffees, appreciation gatherings, and development events, including invitations, RSVPs, logistics, communications, and follow-up

· Support the successful execution of development events and initiatives by managing details, timelines, materials, and communication

· Help create positive and meaningful experiences for donors, families, faculty, staff, and volunteers participating in giving initiatives

Development Cabinet & Communications

· Coordinate meetings, communications, materials, action items, and follow-up for CHC’s Development Cabinet

· Collaborate with Marketing on donor communications, campaign materials, invitations, stewardship pieces, and other development-related communications

· Assist with simple Canva materials and other communications as needed

· Help gather stories, photos, examples, and other content that demonstrate the impact of generosity at CHC

· Support consistent, timely, and mission-centered communication with donors and development partners

Team Collaboration

· Serve as an active member of the CHC Development team, contributing to shared priorities and taking ownership of assigned projects

· Collaborate effectively with Finance, Marketing, Engagement, school leadership, faculty, staff, volunteers, and other members of the CHC community

· Maintain organized systems for development projects, deadlines, events, donor follow-up, and team communications

· Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and a willingness to step in where needed to support the broader mission of the school

· Model the ideal team player traits—humble, hungry, people smart, positive, and loyal—in all interactions

· Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission of Cherry Hills Christian School

Position Details

Reports To: Director of Enrollment & Engagement
Position Type: Hourly / Non-exempt, year-round
Location: Cherry Hills Christian School – Highlands Ranch, CO
Wage Range: $31 - $33 / hour
Hours: 27 hours / week

Requirements

Qualifications

· A strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the mission, values, and statement of faith of Cherry Hills Christian School

· A heart for Christian education and an understanding of generosity as an expression of gratitude, stewardship, and mission partnership

· Exceptional organization, attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through

· Strong relational, written, and verbal communication skills

· Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and details with accuracy and consistency

· Bachelor’s degree preferred

· Experience in development, fundraising, donor relations, school advancement, event coordination, or a related field preferred

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Workspace

· Familiarity with Bloomerang and Canva preferred

· Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a dynamic school environment

· Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with donors, families, colleagues, volunteers, and school leadership

· Ability to handle confidential donor and financial information with discretion and integrity

· Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required

· Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience working in a Christian school, nonprofit, church, or other mission-driven organization

· Experience with donor databases, fundraising campaigns, annual giving, or stewardship programs

· Familiarity with Bloomerang or other donor management systems

· Experience coordinating events, campaigns, or community engagement initiatives

· Experience creating basic communications or graphics using Canva

· Understanding of advancement and development practices within an independent or Christian school setting

· Experience working collaboratively with volunteers, donors, and school leadership

· A demonstrated commitment to excellence, hospitality, and thoughtful donor stewardship
