Position Title: Designer (Web, Packaging, Graphic, Digital) II
Location: El Segundo, CA (Hybrid)
Contract: 3 Months + Possible Extension
Pay Rate: 41.70 / hour on W2.

Overview

We are seeking a Packaging Production Designer to support a fast-paced global creative team within the beauty/luxury industry. This role will focus heavily on translating creative concepts into technically accurate, production-ready packaging artwork, while also contributing to 3D renderings and visual presentations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of packaging production, materials, artwork specifications, and print requirements, combined with strong visual design and 3D rendering capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Packaging and support packaging design and production initiatives.
• Develop and execute packaging designs from initial concepts, sketches, and materials through production-ready artwork.
• Spend approximately 60% of the role focused on technical packaging, including production artwork, dielines, specifications, print requirements, components, and manufacturing feasibility.
• Spend approximately 40% of the role focused on 3D renderings, creating realistic visual representations of packaging concepts and finished products.
• Create production-ready artwork for primary and secondary packaging while adhering to established brand guidelines and packaging standards.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product Development, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure designs are both creatively aligned and technically executable.
• Work closely with vendors and production partners to refine packaging designs and ensure quality, accuracy, and feasibility.
• Manage multiple packaging projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Organize and maintain packaging assets, artwork, design files, fonts, icons, images, templates, and other creative resources.
• Establish and maintain appropriate file naming, organization, storage, and archiving processes.
• Conduct market and competitive research to stay current with beauty, packaging, and luxury design trends.
• Contribute creative ideas and recommendations that support innovation and overall creative excellence.
• Troubleshoot basic Mac/PC compatibility and system-related issues when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Proven experience in packaging design and production artwork.
• Strong experience with technical packaging requirements and production processes.
• Experience creating 3D packaging/product renderings.
• Beauty, cosmetics, consumer products, or luxury industry experience preferred.
• Experience working within established brand guidelines and packaging standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with vendors, printers, manufacturers, or production partners is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of market research, product placement, and advertising is a plus.
• Experience with digital marketing, web development, or project management tools is a plus.

Software Requirements

• Expert Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly:
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe InDesign
• Figma
• Strong experience with 3D rendering/design software
• Working knowledge of AI tools and emerging creative technologies.
• Expert-level Mac/System software knowledge.
• Basic Mac/PC compatibility troubleshooting.
• Microsoft PowerPoint and Teams knowledge is a plus.

The ideal candidate is a packaging-focused designer with strong technical production expertise and 3D visualization skills. The role is approximately 60% technical packaging/production artwork and 40% 3D rendering, so candidates should be comfortable balancing precision-driven packaging execution with high-quality visual presentations.
