Design Embark Intern Summer 2027

Job Details: Job Location: Answers in Genesis HQ - Erlanger, KY, Position Type: Internship, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Category: Internship, The Embark Internship Program contributes to the spiritual, personal and professional development of the student. As the Design Embark Intern the student will use a variety of creative tools to produce attractive, informative print and digital materials, often working within established brands, templates, and design systems. This internship will provide opportunities to learn about event and attraction production in a working environment. This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference.

This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion.

Responsibilities

Apply established brand guidelines to create engaging educational materials for a variety of projects and audiences, including books, activity pages, posters, and presentation slides.
Adapt signage templates to create new wayfinding, event, and promotional signs at public attractions.
Update and repurpose existing designs with new information to create promotional materials and advertisements.
Maintain a consistent brand identity and visual presence across all promotional channels.
Develop marketing materials that effectively promote products and resources through compelling messaging and clear calls to action.
Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
Approach all tasks with a second-mile mindset.
Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments.
Participate in development courses provided for Embark Interns.
Participate in apologetics courses provided for Embark Interns.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications: Requirements

Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Strong understanding of design principles, including visual hierarchy, information architecture, typography, color theory, and readability.
A solid understanding of branding principles and how they inform cohesive, effective marketing and visual communication.
Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand standards across all deliverables.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Independently resourceful, able to research, troubleshoot, and find effective solutions with minimal supervision.
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, priorities, and deadlines.
A fast learner who can adapt to new tools, methodologies, and processes with minimal coaching.
Humble and receptive to feedback, willing to both give and receive constructive criticism with professionalism and grace.
Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.

Education & Experience

Must have a minimum of 45 College Credits.
Currently pursuing a degree in in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, or a related field.
Strong portfolio demonstrating creative problem-solving, technical proficiency, brand consistency, and effective visual communication.
No professional design experience required; academic and personal projects are welcome.
