Design Drafter Intern

Primary Objective:

Follow all PCB procedures and forms in compliance to ISO 9001.

To provide a student with practical, hands-on experience in a professional design drafting environment. Under the guidance of the CAD Manager and senior team members, the Design Drafter Intern will learn to perform basic drafting using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, contribute to engineering projects, and gain valuable industry skills. This role is focused on learning, development, and applying academic knowledge to real-world challenges.

Major Areas of Accountability

Promotes teamwork, cooperation and commitment to “Total Customer Satisfaction” among team members.

• Assist the Design Drafting department by creating and updating drawings based on Engineering Change Order( ECOs).
• Learn and utilize PCB’s Standard CAD practices and tools, primarily Autodesk Inventor and occasionally AutoCAD.
• Support Engineering with minor design projects as instructed by the CAD Manager.
• Review your own work for accuracy and completeness before submission.
• Maintain a work log via a drafting database to track assignments and progress.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the CAD Manager to support the team and enhance your learning experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Currently enrolled in and actively pursuing a two-year or four-year degree in a relevant field such as Design, Drafting, or Engineering Technology.

Other:

Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.

Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D modeling software is required.

This position requires access to “controlled technology” as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730 et. seq.) and “technical data” as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (22 C.F.R, Chapter 1, Subchapter M).
