Job DetailsJob Location: Pocatello Dental Clinic - Pocatello, ID 83201Position Type: Part TimeThe Dental Provider is responsible for providing high-quality, comprehensive dental care to patients within the scope of their licensure. The provider will diagnose and treat acute and chronic dental conditions while emphasizing preventive care, patient education, and overall oral health.

The Dental Provider works as part of an integrated, collaborative healthcare team and provides care to a diverse patient population, including underserved individuals and families. The provider will also work closely with dental assistants, medical providers, and other Health West staff to ensure coordinated and quality patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive dental care within the scope of licensure and Health West clinical standards
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic dental conditions
Provide restorative, preventive, urgent/emergent, and surgical dental services as appropriate
Provide preventive dental care and patient education regarding oral health
Perform procedures such as fillings, crown and bridge work, extractions, and other services within the provider’s scope and training
Provide or coordinate appropriate referrals to dental specialists when needed
Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation, including treatment plans and recommended follow-up
Maintain accurate coding and documentation in accordance with current standards
Participate in chart audits, quality improvement activities, and required education
Maintain appropriate infection control practices and comply with OSHA and Health West standards
Provide clinical supervision and consultation for dental assistants and other staff as required
Collaborate with medical and dental providers to support integrated patient care
Meet established clinical, productivity, and quality measures
Participate in meetings, education, and other organizational activities as required
Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications 

Graduation from an accredited dental school
Current, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the state of Idaho
Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
Ability and willingness to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team
Experience working with culturally and socioeconomically diverse populations preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required

Preferred Clinical Skills: Experience with restorative dentistry, including fillings and crown and bridge; urgent/emergent dental care, including extractions and radiographs; preventive services, including cleanings, sealants, fluoride varnish, and non-surgical periodontal therapy; and surgical procedures such as extractions and oral biopsies.
