The general Dentist is responsible for providing comprehensive dental care to health center patients, including definitive, emergency, restorative and preventive dental care. 

This position includes daytime/evening plus Sunday hours .

Dentist Responsibilities: 

Performs routine examinations and treatment.
Diagnoses ailments of oral cavity. Performs and interprets X-rays.
Performs teeth cleaning and dental work, including crowns, bridges, dentures, etc.
Performs limited dental surgery, restricted to extractions.
Documents patient’s dental history and treatment.
Supervises dental assistants and hygienists.
Performs patient pain management techniques.
Complies with applicable policies and procedures and supports the Compliance Program.
Contributes to organizational operations by performing other duties as may be required.

QualificationsJob Requirements:

DDS/DMD from a dental education program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
Current, valid NYS license to practice dentistry
Active NY DEA Registration
Other certifications as required by state to include- CPR/ DEA
Eligible to Work in the US
BLS certified

Working Conditions and Physical Efforts:

Exposed to a variety of clinical conditions, technologies and environmental settings.
Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward or outward.
Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make out distinctions in sound.
Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
