Dealer Finance Manager - Eastern Region

Inside the Role

This position within the Daimler Truck Financial Services (DTFS) Revenue team plays a critical role in the development and execution of all Thomas Built Bus (TBB) finance sales opportunities for the Eastern Region. In this role, you will directly influence our portfolio of business and financial performance through acquisition growth at positive financial return. Relationship development with TBB sales colleagues, dealer network and disciplined customer account management are key primary responsibilities and essential to achieving success. This role is part of a diverse, agile and ambitious team, with strong focus on serving our dealers and customers.

The person moving into this role will have the ability to work remotely, but will need to live within an hour of a major airport. Approximate travel will be 40%.

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTFS

Sales and Business Development

• Acquire new customer business and expand opportunities with existing customers.
• Present financing solutions and drive adoption by aligning them to meet the customer's business goals.
• Collaborate with TBB sales colleagues and dealer network to develop successful selling strategies and execution plans.
• Leverage TBB order pipeline to proactively prospect new and expanded sales opportunities.

Customer and Dealer Relationship

• Serve as the primary liaison between DTFS Eastern Region sales colleagues and TBB dealers for all sales initiatives.
• Manage all aspects of the customer relationship throughout the entire lifecycle from contract development to contract maturity.
• Represent the company at industry events and regional trade shows.
• Collaborate with Credit and Operations teams to collectively provide concierge-style customer account management.
• Provide customer feedback to initiate and/or support Continuous Improvement efforts.

Performance Management-

• Manage individual performance to meet acquisition, penetration and financial return goals.
• Provide monthly metrics on prospective business volume and lost opportunities.
• Prepare monthly reporting on region performance to plan KPIs.
• Maintain customer account records in Salesforce.

Compliance and Risk Management

• Maintain compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements and ethical sales practices.
• Support the credit team with required documents and information needed to provide timely informed credit decisioning. 

Team Culture and Self Development

• Ensure the completion of all mandatory training.
• Actively manage an individual development plan to enhance technical and soft skills.
• Collaborate with team to foster a culture of knowledge sharing and development. 

Knowledge You Should Bring

• BS/BA and prefer 5-7 years of relevant experience finance or commercial vehicles or 8  years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• 3 years of customer account or portfolio management experience.
• Expertise with root cause analysis.
• Verifiable Valid Driver's License.
• Excellent written, verbal and in-person presentation skills.
• Strong sales, negotiation and conflict management skills.
• Strong time management and organization skills.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Copilot.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

• Credit underwriting experience.
• 1 year of experience analyzing financial statements and using financial ratios.
• Salesforce CRM experience.
• Point of sale, proprietary, and operational systems experience.
• Strong familiarity with DTF pricing tool.
• Exposure working within or with the DTFS organization.
• Solid understanding of the products and services offered by DTFS.
• 2 years of experience working directly with a dealer distribution network.
