Job Description

Position Summary

The Day Porter (Day Shift) is responsible for assisting clients with daily facility duties during normal
business hours at our Melbourne, FL location. Under the general direction of the Supervisor, this role
keeps the facility clean, maintained, and sanitized according to the cleaning specifications for the
building, including entryways and public areas, trash removal, dusting, and restocking supplies in
restrooms, break rooms, and coffee centers. The Day Porter position places you front and center with
our clients, so being able to communicate effectively, clearly, and with a positive attitude with different
personalities, and manage your time well, is essential to your success in this position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain lobby and entryway areas throughout the shift, keeping them clean, tidy, and
presentable at all times.
• Clean and maintain common areas such as kitchens, break rooms, cafeterias, and patios.
• Regularly clean and disinfect touch points and high-touch surfaces throughout the facility.
• Monitor and service restrooms throughout the shift, and restock supplies as needed.
• Remove trash and debris from all areas of the facility.
• Perform daily checks of conference rooms, straightening chairs and replenishing markers and cable
management supplies.
• Stock and replenish items in the kitchen and conference rooms.

• Respond to all service-related calls, including work orders, spills, floods, door access issues, and
emergency cleanups.
• Communicate openly at all levels with the client, manager, and employees, serving as the primary
point of contact for client and customer-relations issues and concerns.
• Perform daily site inspections and complete required checklists and reporting.
• Manage inventory and supplies for the site.
• Ensure machines and equipment are clean and in proper working order.
• Perform other duties as requested or required by management or the client manager.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
• Superior customer service and interpersonal skills; comfortable serving as the primary point of
contact for clients throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time and tasks with limited direct supervision.
• Able to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting supplies and
equipment throughout the shift.

Requirements

• Must have effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• Able to communicate in English.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must have a smart cell phone with email, data, and GPS location available at all times.

Additional Information

Uniform & Equipment

A company-issued shirt is required, along with uniform pants and non-slip closed-toe shoes. All PPE,
cleaning tools, and supplies are provided by the company.

Work Environment

This position involves indoor day shift work within an occupied commercial facility in Melbourne, FL,
interacting directly with clients, tenants, and guests throughout the shift. Employees are expected to
maintain a friendly, professional demeanor at all times and to manage their time and tasks efficiently
with limited direct supervision.
